Minecraft developer Mojang Studios has teamed up with clothing brand Adidas to bring players a special DLC known as the Adidas Adventurers Add-On. Not only is the new Minecraft DLC completely free, but it also comes with three new companions, each with their own unique abilities. The collaboration also sees Minecraft team up with Adidas for a real-life collection featuring new t-shirts, shorts, sneakers, and more.

Since its full worldwide release in 2011, Minecraft has become a staple of the sandbox genre and one of the most iconic video games of all time. Even after all these years, developer Mojang Studios continues to find new ways to keep the massively popular title fresh, largely thanks to a steady stream of new content updates. One of the most recent Minecraft snapshot updates, which was released back in April, made a significant change to the way leads work. Now, players can finally use the lead to leash several different mobs together. Plenty of other quality-of-life changes were also made to the item, making it far more useful and efficient.

Minecraft Announces Free Adidas Collaboration

After releasing a surprise New Zealand DLC for Minecraft back in March, Mojang Studios has now revealed its next add-on, and it’s a big one. In a new post on the game’s website, Mojang Studios announced it has collaborated with clothing brand Adidas for new in-game content and real-life merchandise. The Minecraft x Adidas Adventurers Add-On is available to download now for free, and it comes with three new companions: the Coach, the Teammate, and the Mascot. Each of these new companions comes with a passive effect and an active ability.

The Mascot, for example, can keep a player’s hunger level stable to avoid unnecessary food breaks and can also gather crops and find items. As for the Coach, this companion can help players find ore blocks by highlighting them and even teleporting the player directly to them. The Coach also has the ability to give players a huge jump boost if they have an Elytra equipped. The third and final companion for this unexpected Minecraft DLC is the Teammate, who will show no fear and be right by the player’s side when heading into battle and fight any aggressive mobs.

Mojang is no stranger to Minecraft merch, so it’s no surprise that the studio hasn’t just teamed up with Adidas for a Minecraft DLC, but for a new clothing line too. The new collection is inspired by some of the game’s most iconic mobs, with t-shirts, shorts, tracksuits, and sneakers now available on the Adidas website. There’s a whole variety of Creeper-themed tracksuits and hoodies, as well as some sleek-looking Enderman-themed Handball Spezial shoes that don the iconic purple and black color scheme of the mob.
