Ninja Gaiden 4 will launch for PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass on October 21, Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have revealed. The release date announcement arrived alongside a new trailer, which shows some fresh Ninja Gaiden 4 gameplay footage.

The fourth numbered Ninja Gaiden game was originally announced in January 2025, during Microsoft’s latest Xbox Developer Direct. At the time, Koei Tecmo and publisher Xbox Game Studios announced that the upcoming action adventure was targeting a late 2025 debut.

This launch window has now been replaced with a concrete release date, October 21, which was revealed at the end of a new Ninja Gaiden 4 trailer premiered during the latest Xbox Games Showcase. The June 8 video featured nearly two minutes’ worth of new gameplay footage, ranging from frenetic combat to fast-paced platforming—both long-standing series hallmarks.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Confirms Xbox Cloud Gaming Support

The very end of the trailer that revealed the game’s release window also confirmed its Xbox Cloud Gaming support. Formerly known as xCloud, the exclusive feature of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate allows subscribers to stream games directly to a compatible device, ranging from PCs and consoles to smartphones and tablets. Streaming aside, Ninja Gaiden 4 will also be available day-one via PC Game Pass. Its launch is set to be the centerpiece of the year-long celebrations marking Team Ninja’s 30th anniversary, which had already kicked off with the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black in January 2025.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Is An Xbox Play Anywhere Game

Ninja Gaiden 4 is now available for pre-order across all platforms, priced at $69.99, with its Deluxe Edition retailing for an extra $20 on top. A Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo skin was revealed as the game’s main pre-order bonus. Ninja Gaiden 4 will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, allowing fans to purchase it once and play it across any supported Xbox platform. Apart from the Xbox Series X/S and PC, the upcoming title will also be a day-one PlayStation 5 release.

Ninja Gaiden 4 isn’t the only Xbox Games Pass game to have locked down a release date during the June 8 showcase. The Outer Worlds 2 did the same, with Obsidian confirming that its much-anticipated open-world ARPG is launching on October 29. In the meantime, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition and Barbie Project Friendship are coming to Microsoft’s subscription service on June 10 and June 11, respectively. Kingdom: Two Crowns is also scheduled to arrive on the 11th, followed by EA Sports FC 25 a day later.
