The Best Mario Kart World Builds (Kart + Character Combos)

Mario Kart World features a wide array of karts and characters, allowing for all sorts of creative combinations. However, the best kart combos tend to focus on speed, which generally means pairing fast vehicles with heavy characters like Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Cow.

Mario Kart World has 18 unlockable characters to play as, and here’s how to get them all.

Finding the best character kart combo can still be a little tricky, though, as the optimal setup will vary a little from player to player depending on their skills. Expert drivers will likely favor an all-out-speed setup, while Mario Kart World beginners may benefit from a more well-balanced build.

1

Bowser + Reel Racer

There are a few different karts that pair well with Bowser, with the Chargin’ Truck, Junkyard Hog, and Stellar Sled being some of the better options. The Reel Racer offers the same high speed as all of the aforementioned karts, but is arguably the most well-rounded of the bunch. Those who find the Reel Racer to be a bit too clunky may want to opt for the Junkyard Hog, which is ideal for tracks with limited boosting opportunities due to its superior acceleration.

Players can unlock the Reel Racer by collecting coins during races and free roam sessions. For those looking to speed up the process, this Mario Kart World coin farming glitch ought to come in handy.

2

Rosalina + Stellar Sled

After unlocking Rosalina, players should definitely consider pairing her with the Stellar Sled. As a light-medium-weight character, she’s able to reach incredibly high speeds without having to sacrifice too much of her innate acceleration and handling skills. This Mario Kart World kart kombo isn’t quite as fast as Reel Racer Bowser, but it’s only marginally slower and is a bit easier to handle.

Rosalina has the same stats as Pauline, King Boo, Cataquack, Conkdor, Piranha Plant, and Snowman.

3

Wario + Chargin’ Truck

When operated by one of Mario Kart World‘s heavy characters, the Chargin’ Truck is a little slower than the Stellar Sled. However, it more than makes up for this with its vastly superior acceleration, which gives it the edge on most tracks. The Reel Racer also pairs well with heavier characters, although it can be a little difficult to acquire due to the way that new karts are unlocked in Mario Kart World.

Wario has the same stats as Luigi, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Cow, Wiggler, Pianta, and Chargin’ Chuck.

4

Waluigi + Baby Blooper

For beginners, the Baby Blooper is an excellent kart, as it offers a well-balanced spread of stats and is available right from the get-go. It’s at its best when driven by a heavy character like Waluigi, who, conveniently, is also unlocked by default. This pairing is a little slower than the very best Mario Kart World builds, but offers fantastic acceleration, which should come in handy for players who are not yet able to consistently generate their own boosts.

Waluigi has the same stats as Luigi, Wario, Donkey Kong, Cow, Wiggler, Pianta, and Chargin’ Chuck.
