Persona 6 was nowhere to be seen at the Xbox Games Showcase, but fans can rest assured that the game is still on the way. The Persona franchise has reached new heights thanks to the success of Persona 5, and so fans have been anxiously waiting to see what’s next. Unfortunately, we are getting close to a full decade since the release of Persona 5 and Persona 6 still has yet to be revealed.
Persona 5 was first released in 2016, and the years since have largely been filled by spin-offs, enhanced ports, and remakes. In fact, it was just announced that the Persona 4 remake is happening as Persona 4 Revival, which is currently without a release date. While many fans of the franchise were no doubt excited to learn that Persona 4 is getting a remake, there are those who are concerned that Atlus still hasn’t shown off Persona 6.

Persona 6 Shouldn’t Interrupt Atlus’ Most Recent Gameplay Trend
Atlus has been leaning into action-RPG concepts, Persona 6 should continue this trend, even though the series is historically turn-based.
Addressing Persona franchise fans in the wake of the Persona 4 remake announcement, P-Studio’s Kazuhisa Wada confirmed that the studio is “preparing for the future” of the franchise. He added that the studio is developing future Persona games and hopes to “meet the expectations of fans worldwide.” Doing that means that games need more time in the oven, so Wada has asked fans to “please hold on just a little longer.” While Wada didn’t explicitly mention Persona 6 in the message, one can read between the lines and come to the conclusion that P-Studio is hard at work on the game and other Persona series projects in the pipeline.
Atlus is Preparing for the Future of the Persona Series
The next Persona series release is actually right around the corner. Persona 4 Revival may not have a release date, but fans do know that they can play Persona 5: The Phantom X later this month. Gacha RPG spin-off Persona 5: The Phantom X is launching worldwide on June 26 after having previously released in other regions in 2024. Even though it’s a mobile spin-off, Persona 5: The Phantom X retains many of the same elements that define the main series games, and so it should still make for an interesting release.
Additionally, we are preparing for the future of the Persona series as a whole studio. We are developing these titles to meet the expectations of fans worldwide, so please hold on just a little longer.
While it’s always best practice for fans to wait for official information, Persona 6 leaks suggest that the game will launch in 2026 and features “green” as its main color theme, compared to Persona 3‘s blue, Persona 4‘s yellow, and Persona 5‘s red. If Persona 6 is truly launching in 2026 as rumored, one has to imagine that a reveal will happen sooner rather than later, so fans should keep an eye out for more information on that front.
