Spice is the most valuable resource in Dune Awakening, just one step above water. When players progress into the late-game stages, they’ll need to craft the highest tier of equipment, which will either require Spice Melange or Spice Residue. The Spice Residue is just as important as other Spice resources, as it’s used in crafting high-level refined products. Let’s check out all the ways players can get Spice Residue in the game.

Dune Awakening: Where to Find the Player Trade Market
There’s a trade market in Dune Awakening where players can sell goods to other players, or buy items from them for Solaris, here’s how to find it.
How to Get Spice Residue in Dune Awakening
One of the best ways to get Spice Residue in Dune Awakening is by processing Spice Sand in a Spice Refinery. Players will unlock the Spice Refinery schematics once they reach the Duraluminum tier of equipment. After that, players can spend some intel points to add the schematics to the construction tool. Once you’re ready to create a Spice Refinery, you’ll need the following components in your base or inventory.
- 160x Duraluminum Ingot
- 130x Silicone Block
- 80x Cobalt Paste
- 70x Complex Machinery
After the refinery is constructed, it’ll require at least 100 Spice Sand and 750 Water to create 1x Spice Melange. Once the refining process is completed after three minutes, players will get the Spice Residue as a byproduct of the Spice Melange. This is the most reliable way to get Spice Residue and craft all the products that require it as an ingredient, including Industrial Grade Lubricants and Particulate Filters.
Spice Residue Location in the Open World
If players lack the resources to craft a Spice Refinery and get the Spice Residue with that method, they can simply get the resource in the open world of Dune Awakening. Several locations in the Eastern and Western Shield Wall have enemy Spice Refineries running. All you need to do is infiltrate these locations, loot the Spice Refineries to get Spice Residue and Spice Sand within them.
Two of the confirmed locations for Spice Residue are the Keif’s Triumph enemy base in the Eastern Shield Wall and the Imperial Testing Station No. 60 in the Western Shield Wall.
When you head inside Keif’s Triumph after clearing the area of enemies, simply head to the second building behind the main one to find a chest in the corner of the room to get the Spice Residue.
After entering the Imperial Testing Station No. 60, you’ll need to traverse deep inside until you come across a room with a lot of enemies and two Spice Refineries running. Loot the Spice Refineries to get Spice Sand, Complex Machinery, and Spice Residue from them.
