Blood Message, which was revealed for the first time earlier in June, could release as soon as 2026, according to a report. Developed by 24 Entertainment, a NetEase-owned Chinese studio, Blood Message is a third-person action-adventure game for PC and consoles.
On June 19, NetEase Games introduced the world to Blood Message with an action-packed announcement trailer. The cinematic game follows the story of a father-son duo as they embark on a thousand-mile journey across Ancient China during the last years of the Tang Dynasty. Coming from the studio behind Naraka: Bladepoint, a battle-royale title that is particularly popular in China, Blood Message has been described as a narrative-driven game with an emotional story and is also the first single-player AAA project from NetEase Games. Most recently, a leak shared some juicy details of the in-development game, ranging from its release window to its expected price.

2026 Video Game Release Date Calendar
Video game release dates for 2026 are still mostly a mystery, but we’ll keep this page up to date with new information on the biggest titles.
In a new Twitter post, insider Lunatic Ignus shared that Blood Message might be aiming for a release in the second half of 2026, along with a price tag of $70. Given that the reveal took place barely a week ago, the leaker shared their surprise at the rumored release window, saying, “It’s closer than we thought.” Moreover, they revealed that the historical game was greenlit in 2018, whereas its development reportedly kicked off in 2021. Leaks also pointed out that Blood Message‘s unveiling was originally planned to take place in 2023, which could be the reason why there is expected to be only a year’s difference or so between the initial announcement and the launch date. Further, Ignus shared that the NetEase-published title was primarily inspired by the God of War franchise, while also highlighting that its director was “close friends” with Feng Ji, the main man behind Black Myth: Wukong. This could hint that Blood Message possibly features elements from both of these highly successful IPs in the game.
Blood Message Could Arrive in 2026
The latest Blood Message leak certainly shines light on a slew of worthwhile information, which is likely to catch the attention of God of War and Black Myth: Wukong fans, too. Of course, as with all leaks, this one should also be taken with a grain of salt. However, it’s also worth taking note of Lunatic Ignus’s track record, which includes correctly predicting the announcement date for the PS5 Pro last year. Whether their claims about 24 Entertainment’s new game are closer to reality or not should become clear in the coming months.
Since Black Myth: Wukong‘s successful run, the gaming community’s expectations of Chinese-made AAA titles have risen significantly. The impressive reveals of upcoming projects, such as Phantom Blade Zero and Tides of Annihilation, have also contributed to this growing interest. With that said, it will be interesting to see how the opinion around Blood Message takes shape in the near future and if the game lives up to its level of hype.
