Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 fans should eagerly circle an upcoming August date on their calendars, as there is an exciting new release for the dark, action-adventure title. Hellblade 2 was first launched in 2024, developed by Ninja Theory and published by Xbox Game Studios, and made great use of the higher budget and Unreal Engine 5 visuals to build a spectacular sequel to its 2017 predecessor, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Hellblade 2 was nominated for multiple BAFTA Game Awards in 2025, securing a nod for Animation, Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Best British Game, and recognition for Melina Juergens’s performance in the game’s leading role. Adding to its accolades, Hellblade 2 was widely praised after launch for its art direction, visuals, and sound design, while maintaining its brutality.

Despite gamers being in the full swing of summer just now, Hellblade 2 is one of the best games to play on a stormy day, joining the likes of Still Wakes The Deep, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Silent Hill: Downpour. Hellblade 2 is set in 9th-century Iceland and leans heavily into Norse mythology and its culture, which makes it an oppressive atmosphere perfect to indulge in on a rainy day, especially with themes of psychological horror lurking in the background.
