There are a lot of dangers PEAK players must avoid to make it to the final peak of the game in the fifth biome. One of the most prominent dangers in the first half of a run is poison, which tends to appear most in the Shore and Tropics biomes (levels 1 and 2).

There’s a mod out there that lets PEAK players host more than three friends. Here’s how to install it.
There are numerous sources of poison, varying levels of poison buildup that can be inflicted, and a handful of ways to cure poison in PEAK. This guide details what poison does in PEAK, lists a variety of common sources you should avoid, and explains how to remove and cure poison in PEAK.
PEAK Poison Effects & Sources
When you get poisoned in PEAK, poison will begin to build up and take over a portion of your stamina bar. This is marked by a purple bar with a skull icon. Like hunger, damage, sleep, and other status effects in PEAK, if you are unable to find a way to cure the poisoned status, you will be knocked out and require a teammate’s help to be revived.
Depending on what poisoned you, the poison will build slowly or rapidly. There are numerous sources of poison in PEAK that players should keep a keen eye out for:
-
Jellyfish-like mushrooms, which players can slip on
- Deals a low amount of poison buildup if you step on it, will continue to build poison if you don’t get up
-
Purple spiky urchins, which cause a bit of HP damage on touch
- Low amount of poison buildup, but will continue to build if you remain in contact
-
Poisoned consumables, all berries and mushrooms have a small chance to be poisoned
- Deals varying amounts of poison buildup, randomized
-
Bursting spore bushes, which will explode a cloud of gas if you come into contact
- High amount of poison buildup while in the cloud
-
Poisoned flowers, bushes, and other environmental objects, which will have purple coloration if they are poisonous
- Deals a low amount of poison buildup while in contact
-
Ticks, which will attack themselves to players and must be removed
- Deals a low amount of poison buildup constantly while attached
-
Burnt food, which can only be created if you intentionally cook food too long at a portable stove or the campfire
- Deals a low amount of poison buildup

How To Cure Poison In PEAK
There are a handful of ways to cure poison and remove the poisoned effect in PEAK. The easiest, and most obvious, method to cure poison is to take a dose of Antidote. This rare item can be found in luggage containers, and as the name suggests, it will cure you of poison upon consumption.
You can also use a Medkit or a Cure-All item. The medkit will heal you of poison and HP damage, while the Cure-All will rid you of all status effects and refill your stamina bar.
The Cure-All and Antidote have multiple charges, while the Medkit can only be used once.
Like the Antidote, the Medkit can be found rarely in luggage containers throughout each biome, while the Cure-All is considered a Mythical item and can be acquired extremely rarely from luggage. When you reach the top of a biome, interact with the Ancient Statue (which is also used to revive teammates) to get a guaranteed Mythical item. There is a high chance for this reward to be a Cure-All.
