Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the 2.3 update, believing it would bring major new additions to Cyberpunk 2077, but they’ll need to wait a little longer. Previously slated to release on June 26, CDPR announced a major delay for the update.
Other than its prior June 26 release date, nothing had been known about the Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update. That didn’t stop anticipation, however, but it’s not all bad news. CDPR did confirm the scope of the update alongside the delay announcement.

Fans have long believed that 2.3 would be a significant update for Cyberpunk 2077, but this was based on the game’s update history, not confirmed facts. Cyberpunk 2077 has now confirmed that 2.3 is aiming for a scope similar to 2.2, meaning that fans can expect a content update filled to the brim with new goodies. As a result, it’s no surprise that CDPR is asking fans to wait a little while longer.
For context, version 2.2 introduced numerous bug fixes and new content. Aiming for a similar scope is only good news for Cyberpunk 2077. These included, but were not limited to,
Cyberpunk 2077 fans are no strangers to delays, but this one should only be met with good spirits. Any delay can be disappointing for consumers, but CDPR knows how to support its game properly. Settling for anything less, even if that means a short wait, would not be good for the future of the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise.
