How to Romance Maggie in Date Everything

Maggie is one of the first characters players meet during Date Everything’s tutorial intro. Determined to solve mysteries around the house, she’s an inquisitive mind that will need players’ help on some cases. This will be the key to her heart, but plaayers might need some assistance of their own if they’re going to solve the case that has stumped Maggie. Here’s everything players need to know about how to romance Maggie in Date Everything.

One of Date Everything’s more unusual achievements tasks players with dying in the game, which is a little unusual for a dating sim.

Where to Find Maggie in Date Everything

Maggie is in the same place where players first discover her during the tutorial. As her name suggests, she is, in fact, the magnifying glass that can be found on the shelf next to the piano and the fireplace. With the Dateviators on, players need to scan the magnifying glass to cause Maggie to appear.

After the first conversation players have with her in the tutorial, Maggie will ask for their help in an investigation she is working on. You’ll need to help her solve who sent Dorian a letter with clear romantic intent. After going through the clues, you can pretty quickly and easily deduce that the letter was sent by Mitchell Linn. Select this option, and Maggie will be impressed by your investigative abilities.

How to Solve Maggie’s Counterfeit Item Investigation in Date Everything

maggie scandalabra

In the next interaction with Maggie, she’ll ask for your help on another investigation regarding rumors of a counterfeit object in the house. She suggests speaking to a few different characters in Date Everything: Luxe, Wallace, and Hoove.

Luxe (the lights and lamps around the house) is pretty pointless to talk to, so you can just not speak to him at all if you want. Wallace will just repeatedly say ‘wall,’ but Maggie can translate and will inform you that he’s got no leads. The only one worth speaking to is Hoove, the vacuum in the utility closet just by the kitchen.

Hoove tells you that he heard Stepford talking about silver polishing equipment, so that’s the next person you need to talk to.

You can just ignore all three of these witnesses and go straight to talking to Stepford. He is the trophies and medals that are in the gym on the first floor (opposite your bedroom).

Speak to Stepford, and he’ll tell you that Scandalabra (the candelabra on the dining room table) was the one who shared the rumors with him.

Select the option to have Maggie join the conversation and begin interrogating Scandalabra. He’ll come back at you with a defense of his innocence that the silverware in the drawer is indeed counterfeit. To solve the investigation, you need to select the following options when going through Scandalabra’s points:

  • How about the issue of shininess?: Select ‘Doesn’t silver tarnish?’
  • What about the way Scandalabra speaks?: Choose ‘I don’t think pedantic palaver points to pedigree.’
  • Not so fast! You’re forgetting one last thing…: Select ‘Quite so! The engraving of approval!

This will cause Maggie to reveal the ‘Made in New Jersey’ sticker on Scandalabra’s bottom, who will then admit he is nothing more than a mass-produced, defected object. He will reveal his true identity to you as the aptly-named Jon Wick.

After solving this investigation, Maggie will start to get very flirty with you. However, we’re not quite done yet. There’s another investigation to solve to finish Maggie’s storyline.

How to Solve the Sinclaire Investigation in Date Everything

Maggie will tell you she’s never been able to solve the mystery of Sinclaire’s true identity and ask for your help. This requires speaking to Sinclaire and interrogating him about some facts he’s shared with you previously, as well as the night he was cursed by Vagabonda.

Make sure you have at least 25 Smarts and 40 Sass SPECS points before speaking with Sinclaire. If you don’t, you’ll be locked out of a dialogue option which is crucial for solving the investigation and being able to get the ‘Love’ ending with Maggie.

Go through each of the different interrogation points but pay close attention to the line of questioning around the Questionable Dandelion. After Sinclaire’s shared his story and you’re speaking with Maggie, ask for her thoughts on the Questionable Dandelion. She’ll then ask for your thoughts on the ingredients. Select ‘Jimson weed is a thing,’ followed by ‘Yep. It’s a powerful psychedelic!’ This second option requires you to have 25 Smarts.

Now, ask Sinclaire about his encounter with Vagabonda. Rather than providing a ‘punch card’ that she handed him, it’ll actually be a warranty for an in-sink disposal.

With these two key bits of evidence, you’re now able to successfully back up the conclusion of: Sinclaire, you’re actually a sink.

When asked for evidence, point to the fact that he’s ingested a psychedelic in the form of Jimson Weed, and that the punch card is actually a warranty for an in-sink disposal. This will cause Sinclaire to be sick, and after hitting his disposal, he will clear his system and remember his true identity.

How to Get All Relationship Status’ with Maggie in Date Everything

How Maggie feels about you in Date Everything depends on how successful you were with the two investigations she had you help her with. The requirements for each relationship status are below:

How to Romance and Get the ‘Love’ Ending with Maggie

To get the ‘Love’ relationship status and romance Maggie, you must successfully identify the counterfeit item and come to the correct conclusion about Sinclaire. Impressed by your investigative skills, Maggie will feel a real connection between you two.

How to Get the ‘Friends’ Ending with Maggie

To get the ‘Friends’ relationship status, players must solve one of the investigations correctly, either by identifying Scandalabra as the counterfeit item, or by concluding that Sinclaire is a sink (or that he’s a man but without the important evidence to back it up).

How to Get the ‘Hate’ Ending with Maggie

The ‘Hate’ ending with Maggie just requires players to fail both investigations. Don’t correctly point to Scandalabra as the counterfeit item, and identify Sinclaire as a sink (or a man without the evidence to back it up).
