Borderlands 4 is getting an official story trailer on June 21, 2K has announced. Somewhat unexpectedly, this latest look at Borderlands 4 won’t premiere on YouTube.
2K and Gearbox originally announced Borderlands 4 during the August 2024 edition of Gamescom. Since then, the game has received “Official First Look,” “Official Launch Date,” and “Official Gameplay” trailers, as well as a 20-minute gameplay deep dive.

After weeks of controversy surrounding the comments of Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford over Borderlands 4, the game’s price is now public knowledge.
Another look at the upcoming looter shooter has now been scheduled for this Saturday, June 21, when Borderlands 4 will receive its official story trailer. The video is planned to premiere at 12:45pm PT / 3:45pm ET / 9:45pm CET. According to 2K’s official announcement of the event, the premiere will only be viewable via the official Borderlands Twitch channel and the Borderlands 4 Steam page. Once the livestream is over, the video will likely make its way to other platforms, including the series’ YouTube channel.
Borderlands 4 Story Trailer Premiere Overview
As for the trailer’s contents, the publisher offered few specifics but confirmed it will feature guns, bosses, explosions, and longtime Borderlands character Mad Moxxi. No runtime information has been provided in advance, but based on the game’s previously shared promo videos—except for the late April 2025 gameplay deep dive—the official story trailer will presumably be several minutes long.
2K Is Giving Away a New Borderlands Twitch Badge on June 21
The video itself will debut as part of the latest edition of Borderlands Fan Fest. The upcoming event will also feature new hands-on gameplay footage captured by popular content creators, showcasing Borderlands 4’s planet of Kairos. During the event, fans will be able to unlock a new Vault Symbol Twitch badge. The digital item will be distributed via Twitch Drops, requiring 30 minutes of total watch time to claim. As is typical with such promotions, active viewing isn’t necessary—simply having a supported stream open, even if muted in the background, will count toward the 30-minute unlock requirement.
While Borderlands 4 was initially targeting a September 23 release, its launch was later rescheduled for September 12. The fourth mainline installment in the looter shooter series will be available day-one on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch 2 port is also in the works, but is still waiting for an official release date. This wait shouldn’t be too long, as 2K previously confirmed that Nintendo’s latest console is planned to receive Borderlands 4 before the end of 2025.
