Where is the Chapter 1 Clock Puzzle in Deltarune?
The so-called “Clock Puzzle” is found in the Field of Hopes and Dreams area, just beyond the Great Door in Chapter 1. It serves as the midway point between the Great Door where you first meet Ralsei and the first Great Board. It’s also right after you bump into Top Chef and the Broken Cake that you can fix later on.
Make sure to have your game set to full screen to ensure you don’t miss any details during this section and further on.
Deltarune Chapter 1 Clock Puzzle – Part One Solution
The Clock Puzzle in Chapter 1 is one that’s simple in concept but still tricky to pull off. Thankfully, there’s a sign nearby (seen above) that provides a subtle hint of what you need to do to succeed.
Basically, the goal here is to get rid of the rows of spikes blocking your path ahead on the right. To do that, you need to use the three square platforms left of the spikes.
The clock on the wall nearby serves as your timer for completing the puzzle. Interact with it to start the puzzle and immediately go over to the platforms. You need to step on the ones that light up in the order that they light up.
This will lower the spikes row by row. However, you must be quick to step on each platform, because the clock gives you a limited amount of time to solve the puzzle before it resets. The key to staying ahead of the pattern on the platforms is by using your ‘Sprint’ button. If you didn’t before and find yourself getting reset continuously, Ralsei will cordially remind you to use your Sprint as a hidden interaction.
Once successfully done, the spikes will disappear, allowing you to continue onward to the next section.
Deltarune Chapter 1 Clock Puzzle – Part Two Solution
The second part of the Clock Puzzle in Chapter 1 is found near the end of the Field of Hopes and Dreams area, after a brief encounter with Lancer’s minions. When you initially come across it, you actually won’t be able to complete it just yet. It turns out that you need a bit more help to hit all the platforms in time.
Continue down the path to the right, where you’ll find Susie trying to fight her way through an impassable door. After an entertaining cutscene, she’ll join the group as an official party member and, conveniently, offer the help you need to finish the nearby puzzle. With that, go back to the previous area.
Go over and interact with the clock on the wall to start the timer and proceed to step on the platforms in as accurate an order as you can, just like before except with your two allies now following close behind and helping.
Once you’ve succeeded, a dialogue prompt will indicate that a door has opened nearby. Proceed down the right path, fight the enemy blocking the way (serves as Susie’s battle tutorial), and head for the door.
