Infinity Nikki is expected to launch housing in Version 1.8, but a recent leak implies that Infold will also introduce a monthly furniture pass for $11, monetizing yet another aspect of its cozy dress-up gacha. Despite its successful launch, Infinity Nikki suffered a major blow to its reputation with the release of Version 1.5. On top of being a technical disaster, causing major issues across several platforms, Version 1.5 introduced a dye system that was heavily monetized, requiring players to purchase premium currency to unlock a single dye palette for each individual clothing piece.
As a result, a notable number of players from all regions organized a boycott of Infinity Nikki, refusing to make in-game purchases, engage with its gacha system, or even log into the game entirely. While Version 1.6 launched in a stable state with no controversies, tension still remains in the Infinity Nikki community, as many fans cautiously await Infold’s attempt to address the game’s major issues.

Infinity Nikki Addresses Demand for Switch 2 Version
Infinity Nikki on Nintendo Switch 2 seems like a possibility based on an official statement, but there are some strings attached.
As shared by littleroseredcris from XHS, the housing system in Infinity Nikki will allegedly be monetized with a new monthly pass – granting players access to exclusive furniture at the cost of 80 yuan ($11.13). Moreover, the housing system will seemingly feature individual furniture pieces for sale, priced at 6 yuan ($0.83). Given the poor reception of the dye system in Version 1.5, implementing such a monetization scheme for housing in Version 1.8 could further push the divide between players and Infold.
Infinity Nikki: How Infold Could Monetize the Housing System
While it’s important for leaks to be taken with a grain of salt, there are ways for Infold to implement premium furniture without drawing the ire of the community. By taking a page out of Genshin Impact‘s book, Infinity Nikki could fold premium furniture into the Battle Pass itself. This would give the Mira Journey in Infinity Nikki an even bigger value, thus incentivizing an even bigger share of players to purchase it. It should be noted that earlier rumors implied a new Ability Outfit for Infinity Nikki that would allow players to copy furniture found in the overworld and then build it on their home island. This at least suggests that a great deal of furniture will be readily available to Infinity Nikki players.
Ultimately, there is still plenty of time left before Version 1.8 hits the live servers. With Version 1.6 being a small update, Infinity Nikki is bound to enter a bit of a lull. Considering the chaos of Version 1.5, some players will no doubt find it a relief by comparison. In terms of Banner Outfits in Infinity Nikki, Enchanted Encounter is the featured 5-Star of Version 1.6, while a rerun of Flutter Storm is expected to arrive in the second half of the update. Whether players have chosen to participate in the boycott or not, it may take months for Infold’s response to come to fruition.
