On June 15, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed that Baxcalibur would be the next Seven-Star Tera Raid boss for trainers to face. The arrival of Baxcalibur the Unrivaled in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also broke a pattern that was established earlier in 2025, which saw pseudo-legendary creatures featured in Tera Raids featured by generational order.
Known simply as the Ice Dragon Pokemon, Baxcalibur is the pseudo-legendary monster of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. As the final form of Frigibax and Arctibax, Baxcalibur has the rare type combo of Dragon and Ice, alongside the legendary Kyurem from Pokemon Black and White. Taking heavy inspiration from the iconic kaiju Godzilla, Baxcalibur is known for its high physical attack and HP stats, along with its signature Dragon-type attack called Glaive Rush. Baxcalibur can normally be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by catching a Frigibax in the snow-covered mountains of Paldea and evolving it via leveling.

Following the end of the Porygon2 Tera Raid and Mass Outbreak events, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers soon have a formidable foe to overcome. According to Serebii.net, Baxcalibur the Unrivaled will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens starting Thursday, June 19, at 8:00 PM Eastern, and ending on Sunday, June 22, at 7:59 PM Eastern. A second run of the Baxcalibur Tera Raid event will be held the following weekend, from June 26 to 29, at the same starting and ending times. Baxcalibur the Unrivaled will have the Ice-type as its Tera type, and will grant the Mightiest Mark to trainers who defeat it. Baxcalibur’s high attack statistic means moves like Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Earthquake, Iron Head, and Crunch are possible ways that the Ice Dragon Pokemon can deal serious damage.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Baxcalibur Tera Raid Details (Late June 2025)
- Baxcalibur the Unrivaled appears from June 19 to 22, and again from June 26 to 29.
- The upcoming Tera Raid boss breaks a pattern established by other pseudo-legendary monsters.
- Baxcalibur will have the Ice-type for its Tera type, and grant the Mightiest Mark to victorious trainers.
- Its ability will change the strategies that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players should use.
Baxcalibur the Unrivaled will have one of two abilities that change how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players should approach it. The first ability is Thermal Exchange, which increases Baxcalibur’s already high attack power when it gets hit by a Fire-type move, despite being weak against it. Its second ability, Ice Body, allows it to regain health while Snowscape is active. If it has Thermal Exchange, popular Fire Pokemon like the recently distributed Incineroar are not recommended against Baxcalibur.
However, Ice-type Pokemon are also weak against Fighting, Steel, and Rock attacks, which gives trainers other ways to win the battle. Fighting-type Pokemon like Zamazenta that can use Body Press, Iron Defense, or Reflect should be handy against Baxcalibur the Unrivaled. It remains to be seen what strategies Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will develop.
