On July 22, Pokemon fans will have something to wake up to, as an episode of Pokemon Presents will air on Twitch and YouTube. Although the upcoming Pokemon Presents broadcast will go live less than three months before the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, other Pokemon projects and announcements will get time in the spotlight, along with some surprises for trainers to look ahead to.
The previous Pokemon Presents episode was held on Pokemon Day in late February, and a slew of surprises awaited players who tuned in. Along with another look at Pokemon Legends: Z-A, trainers were surprised by the first glimpse of Pokemon Champions, a competitive battle simulator scheduled to arrive on mobile platforms and the Switch family of consoles at an undisclosed date. Although Pokemon Champions was the top surprise of the Pokemon Day broadcast, the July 22 Pokemon Presents will present trainers with another opportunity to cross off some wish list items.

Pokemon Champions Gameplay and Release Window
Pokemon Champions is a VGC-style battle simulator that will launch on Nintendo Switch systems and mobile devices. However, further information about the project has remained elusive since its Pokemon Day reveal. Given that Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Gigantamaxing, and Terastallization will all be legal in Pokemon Champions, some questions remain about the rules concerning each battle gimmick. Additional clarity about how battles will go in the upcoming title, specific features that take advantage of the Switch 2’s improved hardware, and a release window for trainers to mark on the calendar are all possible things that Pokemon Champions could share more information about.
New Mega Evolutions For Pokemon Legends Z-A
With Pokemon Legends: Z-A arriving on October 16, a way to build more excitement would be to show some exclusive Mega Evolution forms in action. While every previous Mega Evolution from the sixth generation will be included in the new title, Pokemon Legends: Z-A may consist of new forms for trainers to add to their rosters. With Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile being the established Starters of Legends: Z-A, the Mega forms of Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr could be shown off. Additionally, given that modern Pokemon titles have used expansions to keep players coming back for more content, some Legends Z-A DLC could be revealed as a way to build upon the current hype.
More Classic Pokemon Games On Nintendo Switch 2
June 5 saw the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which brought some much-needed performance enhancements to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and other games. Along with the arrival of the Switch 2, the GameCube joined the roster of Nintendo Classics apps that Nintendo Switch Online users can enjoy after upgrading to the Expansion Pack. Although Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness were confirmed to arrive on the GameCube app after the Switch 2’s launch, no further information about them has been revealed since the April 2 Nintendo Direct. The July 22 Pokemon Presents episode will be the ideal opportunity for fans to learn when both Pokemon GameCube titles, along with other games like Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance, will join the growing list of Nintendo Classics.
A Sneak Peek at Gen 10 May or May Not Happen
There is a small chance that the tenth Pokemon generation could still appear during the July 22 Pokemon Presents, despite being notably absent from Pokemon Day. With the Switch 2 now available globally, and proof that the hardware can offer gamers better performance than the previous Switch models, The Pokemon Company could pull back the curtain on what some of its plans are for the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2026. Whether this involves new mainline Pokemon games along the trip down memory lane remains to be seen.
