Fantasy Life i Releases New Update for June 2025

Developer Level-5 has updated the surprise Nintendo Switch hit Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time to version 1.3.0, coinciding with the launch of the Switch 2. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is a sequel to Fantasy Life, a 2012 Nintendo 3DS exclusive that was only available in Japan until its international release two years later. Despite dropping on May 21 nearly 13 years later, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time hit the ground running, quickly gaining popularity with fans of the life simulation RPG genre with its unique Lives system and gameplay variety.

Level-5 has put out a steady stream of major updates since the life sim’s release, including the addition of a multiplayer mode not long after its debut. A patch for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time released on May 28 brought a number of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments to all platforms, the biggest being a change to the game that made the Weird Pad’s Encyclopedia Screen available to players right at the start of its first chapter.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Version 1.3.0 is out now for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, along with patch notes for a future update promising fixes already made on the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions. The update boasts a number of adjustments to key gameplay features, including changes to the Hagram Build feature, God’s Touch, and an added automatic lock-on function, which should come in handy for some of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time’s boss fights. The update also includes an expansion of key configuration options for players using different gamepads to allow for further control customization.

Although the Switch 2 version of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has already brought multiple quality upgrades to the life sim at launch, the new update includes even more graphics enhancements specifically for the new console, including improved shadows, reflection effects, and rendering distances. While the original Switch version will not receive the same enhancements, the update does add a depth of field post-processing setting. A number of quest and objective bugs have been fixed for both versions, including an issue that prevented Guild Quests from registering as complete and a glitch that caused some Treasure Grove routes not to generate correctly.

While the update doesn’t include much in the way of new playable content, Level-5 previously announced it would be releasing free DLC for Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time as thanks for the support its game has received since its launch. The DLC, titled “Update the World!,” promises new recipes, options for displaying gear in multiplayer, and combat encounters. Although Level-5 has not yet confirmed a release date for the DLC, the developer’s continued dedication to supporting Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is a great sign for the life sim’s longevity.
