The June update for First Berserker: Khazan is set to shake up the experience for both newcomers and seasoned veterans, introducing a major rework of the game’s difficulty system. Developed by Neople, First Berserker: Khazan is a solo action title set in the world of Arad, where Khazan is out for revenge against those who led to his downfall.
The game launched on March 27, 2025, and the overall response was solid. Post-launch updates for First Berserker: Khazan have been steady, and the previous big one was the May patch. That update introduced two boss rush modes, Great General’s Crucible and Berserker’s Bloodshed, which unlock once the main story is cleared. On top of that, the devs made the Change Appearance feature usable earlier on, so players don’t have to wait as long to customize their look.

The First Berserker: Khazan Has Gone Gold
Ahead of its highly anticipated release in late March 2025, the hardcore action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan reaches gold status.
While players continue to enjoy the First Berserker: Khazan May update, the team has now revealed what’s coming in June. The headline change is a complete rework of the game’s difficulty system. The current “Easy” mode is being renamed to “Normal” and will now be the default setting. The existing “Normal” will shift to “Challenge,” which better fits its role as a more demanding experience designed for those more familiar with the combat. According to the dev notes, two new difficulty modes are also being added to First Berserker: Khazan. “Beginner” is coming in for those who want a more relaxed intro to the game’s systems, with the option to bump up the difficulty whenever ready.
First Berserker: Khazan Introduces New Hardcore Difficulty
On the flip side, “Hardcore” is for those who’ve already beaten First Berserker: Khazan on Challenge and want something brutal. In this mode, UI elements like enemy health and stamina bars are removed, key support systems are stripped away, and even the camera gets tweaked to increase tension. A new Combo tab is also being added to the in-game Encyclopedia, giving players basic combo guides for each skill tree level to help them learn and practice more advanced moves directly in-game.
Outside of difficulty, the update will add a bunch of quality-of-life features. There’s a new Skill Preset system, Gear Presets, inventory sorting by name, and storage space is getting bumped up from 100 to 500 slots. The First Berserker: Khazan Drop rates are getting a boost too – main mission bosses will now always drop set crafting materials, and the drop rate for Augment of Wisdom is being increased. One more thing: the online demo will be taken offline temporarily, since the current version of the game has evolved significantly compared to what was available at launch.
