Pokemon GO is an augmented reality companion game for fans, allowing them to use their mobiles’ GPS to find, catch, train, and battle an impressive roster of pocket monsters, boasting over 150 species. Nine years on from when it first launched in 2016, Pokemon GO is still as popular as ever, accumulating over 90 million monthly players globally.
2025 will see the return of the popular Pokemon GO Fest, an annual event held during the summer that gathers trainers in person, and this year the celebrations will take place in Osaka, Japan, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, and Paris, France. Furthermore, Pokemon GO announced Legendary Giants will be returning to the mobile game, ahead of GO Fest 2025’s arrival, and they will be part of the Ancients Recovered event hosted between June 23 and 27.

Announced on social media, Pokemon GO unveiled the new Community Campsites feature that’s coming to the mobile game, and this addition will join the celebrations that take place on June 21 for Pokemon GO Community Day, starring the Dragon-type creature, Jangmo-o.
