Eagle-eyed Call of Duty fans have noticed the first official teaser trailer for Black Ops 7 seemingly includes a date that many speculate could be for the shooter’s full reveal. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was officially announced with a mind-bending new teaser trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase, but it, sadly, did not feature any gameplay. However, fans might not have to wait long, as some are speculating a full reveal will arrive on June 20, which is currently less than two weeks away.
Although the marketing plans for the next Call of Duty game are unknown, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a special Warzone event for Black Ops 7 take place in the near future. While the shooter has already been revealed, it has only been in the form of a cinematic trailer, which means details surrounding the game’s Zombies and Multiplayer modes remain a mystery. In the past, Activision has been known to unveil new Call of Duty games via its free-to-play Battle Royale title, Call of Duty: Warzone. Whether or not the studio intends to divulge more information via an event remains unknown, but fans believe more information will likely be shared before the month comes to a close.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Full Reveal May Be Later This Month
Shortly after the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at the recent Xbox Games Showcase, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the game’s key art, which is shown at the end of the teaser trailer, features the date ‘June 20, 2025.’ This date is not only speculated to be a potential full reveal for Black Ops 7, with possible gameplay of the game’s campaign, but is also the date on which Raul Menendez released the YouTube video “Cordis Die – A Newer World” on YouTube in the Black Ops 2 timeline. As Black Ops 7 is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, Activision could be using the date as a way to pay homage to the 2012 shooter. However, it’s also possible that this is merely an easter egg/reference and not a teaser for a full reveal.
The release date for the next Call of Duty title is currently unknown, but with a launch likely to follow previous years and arrive in late October/early November, June is the usual time that teasers and reveals begin. While the game’s first trailer was a cinematic teaser, it did confirm some previous leaks surrounding Black Ops 7. According to Activision, the next entry in the Call of Duty series will be set in 2035 and will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, which was set in 2025. The trailer shows the return of not only David Mason, who is the son of Black Ops protagonist Alex Mason, but also Raul Menendez, an iconic villain who was last seen in 2012’s Black Ops 2.
There’s still plenty to be revealed, but Activision has also confirmed previous rumors that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will still launch for last-gen consoles. The highly anticipated shooter will once again launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Activision’s dedication to the last generation of consoles is admirable, but many believe it is holding the series back. While the studio has never confirmed it, various insiders have claimed that Warzone is unable to feature large-scale Battle Royale map rotations due to the limitations of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is just one of the many reasons why fans want to see the studio ditch the almost twelve-year-old consoles.
