Retailing for $64.99, the Switch 2 GameCube controller is a wireless controller that will likely be primarily used by Super Smash Bros. fans and those that want to have an authentic experience playing GameCube games through Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier. Unfortunately, getting a Switch 2 GameCube controller isn’t exactly a straightforward process.

Then, on May 13, all Switch Online members will have the chance to order a GameCube controller. Purchases will be limited to one per Nintendo account, and those that sign up for a Switch Online free trial will not be eligible.

When the Switch 2 launches on June 5, it will be doing so alongside three classic GameCube games. F-Zero GX, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Soulcalibur 2 will be playable on Switch 2 on launch day with more GameCube games coming in the future. Chibi-Robo, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Luigi’s Mansion, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, and Super Mario Sunshine are all confirmed to be on their way, though exact release dates have yet to be announced at the time of this writing.
