Dune: Awakening developer Funcom released the patch notes for Update Version 1.1.15.0, improving the endgame for both PvE and PvP players. Released just last month, Dune: Awakening has become one of the most successful titles of 2025, receiving high praise from players and critics alike. Though it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the hardcore desert survival MMO, its enduring player base, despite the minor hiccups, seems to be hooked on the gameplay loop the developers created.
Just a few days ago, Funcom released a major patch that made huge changes to the endgame of Dune: Awakening. Notably, the PvE zone, which previously took up one-ninth of the Deep Desert, was increased to cover roughly half of the entire map, giving solo players a safe place to farm Tier 6 resources. Patch 1.1.15.0 is a much smaller update by comparison, but no less important, as it makes significant gameplay adjustments that may vastly change how the game is played.

Some vocal Dune: Awakening players take to social media to voice complaints with the game’s total bank storage volume—or lack thereof.
In an official announcement on the Dune: Awakening website, Funcom revealed the 1.1.15.0 patch notes, a roughly 1.1 GB update that is already live at the time of this writing. The blog post also clarifies that while most of the changes introduced by this patch should already be live, some may require downtime that will be announced via in-game notifications, if needed. Most changes in Patch 1.1.15.0 are aimed at improving the endgame PvE content in the Deep Desert of Dune: Awakening.
One of the big improvements in this patch is that Tier 6 resources will now be more common in the Deep Desert PvE zone. Previously, Tier 6 resources in the safe zones were spread far apart, making efficient mining impossible. This was done to give players a reason to head into the more dangerous, but more rewarding, PvP zone where resources were more densely packed. Now, players should find Tier 6 materials more abundant in the PvE areas, though still not to the extent of what can be found in the PvP section of the Deep Desert.
Other changes include increasing the time it takes to leave the PvP zones, making Dune: Awakening’s Landsraad tasks mete out rewards even after the primary objective has been achieved, randomizing Uniques in the Deep Desert, and reworking spice fields.
A client-side hotfix was also released for Steam users a few hours after Patch 1.1.15.0, fixing “Connection Lost Generic” errors that may occur when connecting to certain regions in the Hagga Basin.
Dune: Awakening 1.1.15.0 Patch Notes
Deep Desert, End Game, and Landsraad
- Tier 6 resources can now be collected across wider areas in the PvE part of the Deep Desert.
- We added an element of randomization to the respawn timer of unique loot containers in the Deep Desert.
- The plastanium tier crafting components were split up to drop based on the content location: Imperial Testing Stations, Caves, or Shipwrecks, with each of them dropping their own selection of components. Fallen Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure can drop components from any location.
- Added a chance of a different selection of Uniques drop in PvE loot in Deep Desert.
- The spawn rate of medium fields increased from 5 back to 8, and of the small spice fields increased from 22 to 30.
- The delay for leaving a PvP security zone increased from 5 to 30 seconds to prevent border camping and allow PvP players to protect their area.
- Changed Landsraad tasks to allow for Kill and Delivery Contribution to happen after the task has been completed but awarding only personal contribution. (i.e., which faction won and how many guild votes were awarded are unaffected by contributions made after the task was completed by one faction).
Other:
- Improved game stability.
- Reduced the cases where the sandworm can push vehicles under terrain.
- Added a new audio alert for the PvP zone change.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the Harkonnen faction recruitment contract “Do you have what it takes?” could sometimes get stuck and couldn’t be completed if you exited the dialogue with Maxim Kazmir before selecting the line “It says here that you’re looking for recruits“ to complete the contract.
- Fixed an issue where contract rewards dropped on the ground if your inventory was full, which could lead to situations where you would miss them. Now rewards can only be claimed when there is enough space in your inventory.
- Fixed an issue where vehicle modules wouldn’t highlight properly after the player had applied a customization variant.
- Fixed an issue where the positioning of a pentashield surface could overlap with an existing pentashield surface.
- Fixed an exploit that would allow building a vehicle with items from another player’s inventory.
