The Prehistoric Update added a bunch of items and features to Grow a Garden, including new seeds, quests, and crafting recipes. However, the most interesting addition is arguably the Dinosaur Egg, which allows Roblox players to get their hands on one of six special prehistoric pets.

There are a few different ways to get Dinosaur Eggs in Grow a Garden. The first requires players to trade in their pets at Graham’s Dinosaur Eggs booth in the center of the map. He’ll accept any pet that isn’t a dinosaur, although players will need to wait sixty minutes after handing over their old pet before getting their Dinosaur Egg. Players can also get Dinosaur Eggs by completing Dino Quests for Blaire. These quests are triggered automatically and reset every six hours, with fifteen potential Dino Quests in total.

Dino Quests That Can Reward Players with a Dinosaur Egg

  • Harvest 50 Strawberries
  • Harvest 150 Blueberries
  • Harvest 25 Apples
  • Harvest 10 Coconuts
  • Harvest 5 Dragon Fruits
  • Plant 10 Watermelons

Probability

Traits and Abilities

Raptor (Legendary)

35%

~2.25% chance fruit gets Amber mutation after being harvested. Rarer plants have a lower chance of mutating. Grants an additional ~14% increase to player movement speed.

Triceratops (Legendary)

32.5%

Every 3.33m, it rams into 3 random plants and advances their growth by 33.33m. Has a ~15% chance to do it again each time.

Stegasaurus (Legendary)

28%

~9% chance of harvested fruit being duplicated. Rarer crops have a lower chance of being duplicated. ~5% extra chance for prehistoric-type fruit to be duplicated.

Pterodactyl (Legendary)

3%

Every ~10m, it flaps its wings and sends out ripples of wind, causing ~3.5 random fruit to get Windstruck, with an ~18% chance for Twisted to be applied as well. Grants an additional ~15% increase to player Jump height.

Brontosaurus (Mythical)

1%

Pets hatched from eggs have a ~5% increase in base size and weight. This size bonus is capped at 30% per egg and does not apply to Brontosauruses.

T-Rex (Divine)

0.5%

Every ~20m, it devours a random mutation from your garden, then roars, spreading that mutation to ~3.5 other random fruits in your garden.

Dinosaur Eggs take 4 hours and 16 minutes to hatch and can reward players with one of six different dinosaur pets. The T-Rex is by far the most desirable due to its ability to duplicate rare mutations, although the Brontosaurus and Stegosaurus aren’t too bad either. When it comes to the best pets to trade for Dinosaur Eggs, players should stick to common pets like Dogs, Golden Labs, and Bunnies, as they have very little value and can be easily obtained from Raphael’s egg shop.
