It has been, and still is, a time of big changes and additions for World of Warcraft over the past couple of months, with June seeing the launch of the highly anticipated 11.1.7 patch, including the controversial “one-button DPS” option, and a few events scattered between the end of June and the entirety of July. Now, players have access to two specific events they shouldn’t miss out on, with the first being Collector’s Bounty, which adds a 5% chance on all pre-Dragonflight mounts and cosmetics, and the second being the Greedy Emissary crossover with Diablo 4. The latter is a returning event, but it’s really worth farming due to its rewards.
Much like other events in the game, World of Warcraft‘s Greedy Emissary does have some hard-to-beat options when it comes to where, how, and when to farm. The event lasts four weeks, from July 1 to July 29, so players have plenty of time to get everything. Yet, there is one clear winner in terms of farming routes that will allow players to get all (or most) of the rewards in just one day.
WoW’s Greedy Emissary and Collector’s Bounty events both started on July 1, and will both end on July 29 at 8 AM PDT.

These can be bought in Dornogal from Baranar, whereas the other rewards are obtained from Hellcaller Chests or Treasure Goblins. Since 520 Hellstone Shards can seem like a lot, players can adopt one strategy to farm them very quickly.
The first 10 Hellcaller Chests per week, per account, will always drop 6 Hellstone Shards each. After that, the Shards vary between 1 and 5.
What is The Best Farming Strategy For WoW’s Greedy Emissary Event?
There are four places where Treasure Goblins spawn in the game: Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Dornogal, and Undermine. However, Undermine is by far the best place to farm Hellcaller Chests. Since there will be portals spawning in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal on the hour, every hour, the ideal route starts in Dornogal at :00 of a given hour.
Then, players should tag all Treasure Goblins spawning from the portal and loot them. After that, players should head to the portal to Undermine, ideally before the quarter hour, and kill all the Treasure Goblins that spawn from rare mobs until around 40 minutes into the hour. World of Warcraft‘s Undermine zone will also spawn a portal storm every 15 minutes, so players can head there for even more Treasure Goblin kills. Once players have done all this, which should be around 50 or 55 minutes into the hour, they can head back to Dornogal for the hourly portal or stay in Undermine if more rare mobs are available.
A cycle of this for a few hours guarantees that players will have at least a couple of hundred Hellstone Shards, if not more, making it possible to get all the main rewards in a single day of dedicated farming. Another option is to sit AFK in WoW‘s Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Dornogal and just tag the Treasure Goblins that spawn on the hour, every hour, maximizing the farming for the amount of time spent, which would be minimal.
The Undermine method is arguably unbeatable, as having players affiliated with each of the Cartels of Undermine in WoW will add even more rare mobs that spawn portals to the mix, making the farming route easier. A coordinated group can make this extremely efficient, and players can even use the Premade Group function in the game if they wish.

How To Maximize Farming in World of Warcraft’s Diablo 4 Crossover Event
To further maximize the farming experience, players should be wary of the items they get from Hellcaller Chests, as one of the possible rewards is a random Elixir. These Greedy Emissary Elixirs are each associated with a different type of affix that the Treasure Goblin portals can have, and each portal can have up to six different affixes. With six affixes, the game guarantees that the portal will spawn three Treasure Goblins, each with two of the available affixes on the portal itself.
WoW‘s Treasure Goblins behave much like Diablo 4‘s Treasure Goblins, in the sense that they will run around and “escape” from players, so it’s important to at least deal a little bit of damage to each Goblin before chasing one or two. Even if players miss out on looting a corpse, they will still get the rewards via the Postmaster, so they can achieve some peace of mind.
Last year’s version of the Greedy Emissary event didn’t include Elixirs, so this makes it even easier to get all rewards compared to the previous iteration of the event.
