Diablo 4‘s battle pass is labeled the Reliquary system. There are multiple Reliquaries to choose from, each of which offers cosmetic rewards for you to use. There will always be one free battle pass, so it’s always worthwhile to get and spend your favor tokens if you care about cosmetics.
Additional battle passes can be purchased with Platinum, or you can use Platinum from the free battle pass to unlock the paid ones. If you want to engage with any of the battle passes, you’ll need favor tokens, which are spent to earn the rewards in whatever order you want. Here’s how to earn favor tokens to spend on the battle pass.

How to Earn Favor Tokens in Diablo 4
Points to a Favor Token are earned whenever you kill an enemy or complete a quest. While it is possible to see your progress to the next Favor Token, this mostly happens behind the scenes, as the point value earned does not appear on screen. That being said, you will get a notification every time you earn a token, so you can easily have an idea of how many you have without going into the menu.
Elites and bosses offer many more points to Favor Tokens.
Playing on a higher difficulty will have you face stronger enemies, which will give you more points towards favor tokens and have you get them much faster. If you’re choosing to play on a lower difficulty, you will earn them slower, so focus on completing quests, as those will give much more points than just clearing regular enemies.
How to Check Your Progress With Favor Tokens in Diablo 4
You can check how many Favor Tokens you have and your progress towards getting another one anytime by pausing the game and going to the main in-game menu. From there, tab over to the Reliquaries option, which is the second one to the far left. Here you’ll see all the available battle passes, along with your total number of Favor Tokens and Platinum in the top right.
The small bar under your Favor Token count will fill up as you defeat enemies and complete quests, indicating your progress to the next Favor Token. The specifics of this bar and how it fills up are not shown to the player, but this menu can at least give you an idea of how close you are to the next token.

How to Spend Favor Tokens in Diablo 4
Favor Tokens have no other use than buying cosmetics from the Reliquary system, and there’s no wrong way to spend them. In the Reliquary menu, select the pass you want to redeem an item from, and you’ll see the Favor Token cost, redeeming that many for the cosmetic within. There are four available Battle Passes to choose from:
- Seasonal Pass – Free
- Weapons – 200 Platinum
- Beasts (pets) – 500 Platinum
- Armor – 800 Platinum
In the Seasonal Pass, you can redeem enough Platinum to get the Weapons Pass too, letting free-to-play players have at least two battle passes to choose from. Cosmetics in either pass can be unlocked in any order you’d like, letting you pick and choose any of the ones you want. That being said, there is one locked option that requires you to purchase everything else in the pass in order to unlock it.
