How do Horadric Strongrooms Work in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4 Season 9 adds Horadric Spells for players to unlock and customize to their liking. These spells have multiple parts that players can find and upgrade to make their spells more efficient, though they will require a lot of grinding to find.

The key to grinding the new items needed for Horadric Spells is by finding Horadric Strongrooms and getting high ranks of rewards for them. Once you get your character to a high enough level, Horadric Strongrooms will be the main thing you need to grind for a decent bit of the season to maximize the unique Horadric Spells. Here’s how to find Horadric Strongrooms and how to get the best rewards from them.

Difficulty has replaced World Tiers in Diablo 4, offering even more of a challenge than before; here’s how to change it.

Where to Find Horadric Strongroom in Diablo 4

Horadric Strongrooms have a chance of appearing in every Nightmare Dungeon. The higher the difficulty you play on, the more likely they are to appear, though on just about every difficulty, they will appear more often than not. Horadric Strongroom pedestals will usually appear in the first section of a Nightmare Dungeon, before you see and start working on the main goal of the Dungeon.

Interacting with the Pedestal will open the portal that takes you to the Strongroom, acting as a mini-dungeon in the Nightmare Dungeon. After finishing the Strongroom, you can leave the Nightmare Dungeon if you want, and the rewards for finishing the Strongroom are yours to keep, but Nightmare Dungeons themselves are still worth completing for additional seasonal content and general player XP.

How do Horadric Strongrooms Work in Diablo 4?

All Horadric Strongrooms follow the same general format; you’ll enter the first room and clear out the enemies, then activate modifiers for the main Strongroom. Once you activate the modifiers, you’ll have 100 seconds to kill as many enemies as possible to determine the rank of rewards you get. Once the timer runs out, the boss will spawn, and killing them will drop rewards based on the rank you reached.

  • You can die and respawn in the Strongroom; you’ll just lose time.
  • Attunement is your “score,” which determines the rank of rewards you get.
  • There is only one floor with multiple Shrines always scattered around.

Speed is the name of the game with Strongrooms, as the number of enemies you kill determines how worthwhile this activity is. Clearing Horadric Strongrooms offers a lot of Horadric Phials, Horadric Knowledge, and potential modifiers for your Horadric spells if you get a high enough rank. It is possible to lower the difficulty of your game to make the enemies within the Strongroom easier to kill, helping you get a higher rank, though playing on the lower difficulty does lower the amount of rewards you get for each rank.
