Resident Evil 4 Remake Passes Major Franchise Record
Capcom announces that its 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 has surpassed yet another sales milestone, setting a new franchise record in the process.
In any case, TikTok user claireredfieldswifeyy recently attempted to purchase the Resident Evil 4 remake from GameStop. When they opened the case back at their home, they discovered that instead of the Resident Evil 4 remake, GameStop put the disc for the Resident Evil 4 HD remaster inside. Both the Resident Evil 4 remake and its HD remaster have a physical release on PS4, and so it’s easy to see how this mix-up happened. Since the Resident Evil 4 remake is more expensive than the HD remaster, this was likely a frustrating experience for the TikToker. Luckily, there should be no problem getting GameStop to rectify the issue and trade out the remaster disc for the remake one.
GameStop Gives Customer Wrong Version of Resident Evil 4
This isn’t the first time that there has been a retail mix-up. There have been reports online of GameStop accidentally sending extra games to customers, and multiple people have bought games from Walmart only for the security case to still be on. These issues are inconvenient for the consumer, but most of the time they should be resolved without too much trouble.
In the meantime, Capcom has found a great deal of success remaking Resident Evil games, and it will likely continue to do so moving forward. Rumor has it that two Resident Evil remakes are launching in 2027 and 2028, respectively, with Zero and Code: Veronica up to bat next. Fans have also been voicing their desire to see the first Resident Evil game get another remake, this time in the same style as the more recent remakes, but nothing has materialized on that front.
