A new rumor making the rounds online suggests that the next five years are going to be absolutely massive for Insomniac Games and fans of its Marvel projects. Insomniac Games has found incredible success with its Spider-Man video games, and the studio has already announced that it is working on a Wolverine game for PS5 as well.
The Wolverine PS5 game was announced years ago, but there haven’t been many other official updates on the project beyond that it’s still in the works. The unfortunate Insomniac Games data leak revealed rough, early footage of Wolverine gameplay, and also revealed the studio’s planned roadmap of releases moving forward. Now a new rumor may give further insight into when exactly Insomniac Games fans can expect these games to start hitting the market. If the rumor is true, Insomniac is about to go on a ridiculous hot streak of releases.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Could be ‘in Early Production’ at Insomniac
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 might already be in the early production stages, though it might still be some time before the game is ready to be shown.
The rumor comes from YouTuber TheMaggshow, as spotted by ComicBook, and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if their information is accurate, it seems as though the long-rumored Venom game from Insomniac will be releasing in 2026, with the Wolverine game dropping at some point in 2027. Finally, it’s claimed that Spider-Man 3 is aiming for a 2029 release. If that’s true, one has to imagine that Spider-Man 3 will be launching on the PlayStation 6 as opposed to the PS5, but again, fans should take these claims with a grain of salt for now.
Rumored Insomniac Games Roadmap
- Venom – 2026
- Wolverine – 2027
- Spider-Man 3 – 2029
These claims are at odds with Insomniac’s leaked roadmap, but it’s worth pointing out that the Insomniac roadmap seems to have been pushed back. Originally, it was believed that Venom would launch in 2025 with Wolverine releasing in 2026. Spider-Man 3 was supposedly going to launch in 2028, with a new Ratchet & Clank dropping in 2029 before Insomniac’s X-Men game makes its debut in 2030. The latest State of Play event came and went with no mention of Venom or Wolverine, so it would make sense that the timeline has shifted, with everything pushed back by about a year.
While it’s disappointing that fans may have to wait longer than expected for these games, if the leaks are accurate, Insomniac is about to go on an incredible hot streak to close out the decade. If the Venom game is real and is truly next in line, hopefully fans get their first glimpse of it sooner rather than later.
