Ultimate Strength is the first major quest involving a collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and another IP. In this case, players will get to meet and play as Akuma from the Street Fighter series — this is more than just a cosmetic thing, though, as you’ll actually get to use Akuma’s moves while hunting.
This collab quest is a permanent addition to the game, so if you haven’t done it yet, you’ll have all the time in the world. In this guide, we’ll be covering how to start the Ultimate Strength quest in MH Wilds as well as all the things you need to do to complete it.
How to Start Ultimate Strength in Monster Hunter Wilds
Before you can do the Akuma quest in MH Wilds, you’ll first need to reach MR 21. You’ll reach this point naturally as you progress through the main quest line, so apart from doing all the necessary missions, there will be little grinding necessary.
Once you do reach MR 21, speak with Quinn at the Oilwell Basin, near your camp. She’ll ask for your help investigating some weird happenings throughout the basin, and if you agree to help her, the Ultimate Strength quest will officially begin.
MH Wilds: Ultimate Strength Quest Walkthrough
Quinn will ask you to lend Vespae Unit a hand with their mission, which is to investigate why Tempered Monsters don’t seem to be appearing much in Oilwell Basin. Your task is to investigate the Upper and Middle Strata of the basin, but the game won’t tell you where you need to go.
The Upper Stratum location for the MH WIlds Ultimate Strength quest is in Area 5. Once you arrive there, a button prompt will appear on your screen. Press that button, and your camera will automatically pan to a dead Tempered Rathian in the background. As for the Middle Stratum location, you can find it in Area 11.
Where to Find Akuma Location in MH Wilds Ultimate Strength Quest
After investigating the two locations, go to Maki in Azuz, and she’ll tell you about a man in the bottom Subterrane. Yes, the man in question is Akuma, and you can find him in a tunnel between Area 16 and 18. Speak with him, and he’ll challenge you to complete an Arena Quest.
Demonic Strength Arena Quest
You can start Arena Quests in MH Wilds by going to the Grand Hub and speaking with one of the guild NPCs in the Quest Counter. The one you’re looking for is called Demonic Strength.
In Demonic Strength, you’ll be given the Akuma layered armor, which comes with a special unarmed moveset that mimics Akuma’s moves in SF6. You can beat the Ajarakan with your bare fists, or use the provided weapons. It doesn’t matter what you use, as long as the Ajarakan suffers a thousand deaths.
