Elden Ring Nightreign’s New Everdark Boss is Further Proof That All Nightfarers Aren’t Equal

Elden Ring Nightreign just added a fresh Everdark Sovereign, and it’s proving to be a fun challenge. Named Gnoster, Wisdom of Night, this Everdark Sovereign is a stronger version of the Sentient Pest. Elden Ring Nightreign aims to bring fresh battles to players and their fellow Nightfarers, but for some bosses, specific class lineups are necessary.

Elden Ring Nightreign is intended to be played in teams of three, but when it comes to certain encounters, it’s sometimes best to have a certain Nightfarer on one’s team. Gnoster, Wisdom of Night is a great example of this, as having Ironeye on one’s side is incredibly beneficial to getting through this special boss fight.

One huge question has surrounded Elden Ring Nightreign since its release, and it could define the future of the game’s content going forward.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Gnoster, Wisdom of Night Showcases How Each Nightfarer Has Their Own Special Strengths

Ironeye’s Range is Essential in Defeating This Everdark Sovereign

Of course, there are players and squads who can likely take down this foe within their own special lineups, but having an Ironeye in on one’s team definitely makes it a lot easier. Whether one is playing solo or co-op, having the ability to fight with ranged combat is incredibly helpful, showcasing how Elden Ring Nightreign players need to be prepared when it comes to Everdark Sovereigns.

Granted, the base version of Sentient Pest isn’t exactly difficult, it’s just frustrating, and its Everdark version ups the ante by making the bug-like duo into a trio. The original version requires players to bounce back and forth by defeating a moth that is best dealt with via ranged attacks, while the scorpion-like enemy can deal serious damage while one is trying to aim, but ultimately, sticking with the ranged combat is far more beneficial, especially when considering the third addition, Animus. Elden Ring Nightreign puts an interesting spin on boss fights with Everdark Sovereigns, and while Gnoster, Wisdom of Night isn’t exactly the hardest enemy that Elden Ring fans have faced, it certainly requires a decent amount of strategy going forward.

Gnoster, Wisdom of Night is particularly sensitive to Fire, so players should definitely consider this before taking on the Everdark Sovereign.

Elden Ring Nightreign Continues to Shake Up Elden Ring’s Formula

After the immense success of Elden Ring, it was unclear what FromSoftware would have in store next. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was also a huge success, so many were surprised when Elden Ring Nightreign was revealed at last year’s Game Awards. The idea of a three-player version of Elden Ring was both intriguing and confusing, but Elden Ring Nightreign has proven that it’s a unique experience that can set itself apart from the base franchise while having its own unique identity.

Of course, because of the way it’s crafted, Elden Ring Nightreign may not be for every Elden Ring fan, but for those who enjoy a multiplayer experience that requires a specific strategy, it can be an incredibly fun game to dive into. Everdark Sovereigns further showcase just how much strategy is needed to excel in the game. Taking on Gnoster, Wisdom of Night without a Nightfarer that has a knack for ranged combat isn’t the wisest choice, and that kind of pre-fight strategy adds an extra layer of fun to the experience.

While Gnoster, Wisdom of Night isn’t exactly the hardest enemy that Elden Ring fans have faced, it certainly requires a decent amount of strategy going forward.

Now that Everdark Sovereigns are being added to the equation, it will be exciting to see what lies in store for players as the year continues. Elden Ring Nightreign is only a little over a month old at this point, and as the year continues, there’s no telling what other kinds of challenging post-launch content awaits players.
