The Steam page of Hollow Knight: Silksong has received five manual updates in the last two days, as spotted by fans of the popular franchise. Hollow Knight: Silksong is easily one of the most eagerly awaited games of all time, and fans often experience a mixture of excitement and disbelief when any news about the title surfaces.

Released by Team Cherry in 2017, the original Hollow Knight is often considered one of the best Metroidvania games ever made. Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally announced in 2019, and fans have often believed that its release was just around the corner since then. Unfortunately, years have passed, and the game does not have an official release date yet. Back in April, it was at least confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong would be out in 2025 during the Nintendo Direct event.

Now, fans have discovered that Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Steam page gained five manual updates in less than 48 hours. According to SteamDB, the first of these updates happened on July 2, and it was followed by two on July 3 and two more on the following day. While this does not mean much by itself, it’s certainly something that caught the attention of the fanbase. Fans on social media were divided, with some mildly excited about these updates, while others remained skeptical. Some even joked that the game would be out “tomorrow,” making fun of how hopeful the fanbase once was.

At least, as shown in the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch before the release of ROG Xbox Ally, which is scheduled to be out late in 2025. Obviously, delays can always happen, but it’s unlikely that the game would be featured in so many presentations if Team Cherry was not confident that the project was finally nearing its launch.

It’s still unknown how Hollow Knight: Silksong will compare to its predecessor. The original Hollow Knight was largely considered one of the most influential Metroidvania games ever, so the fanbase will certainly be expecting an amazing experience. In any case, it’s possible that the title will be a big hit, and hopefully it’ll really come out in the next few months.
