Infinity Nikki Reveals 3 New Outfits and a Darker Storyline for Version 1.7

Infinity Nikki has revealed an overview of Version 1.7, which will introduce a new dungeon, three new outfits, and continue the lore of Wishfield with a darker storyline. Following its successful launch in December 2024, Infinity Nikki suffered a major setback with the disastrous launch of Version 1.5. While Infold attempted to appease players with a set of apologies, many players began a boycott of Infinity Nikki until the issues were addressed.

As a result, Infold delayed Version 1.6 by a week. While the update was non-controversial, it also failed to resolve the main criticisms of Version 1.5 – with the sole exception of performance and stability. It added new outfits to Infinity Nikki and introduced a maze mini-game, but for the most part, Version 1.6 was intended to stop the bleeding while Infold worked on a proper solution.

Infinity Nikki Leak Reveals Exciting New Region for Version 2.0

A recent leak strongly implies that Infinity Nikki is planning an ambitious expansion in Version 2.0, with Nikki and Momo traveling to a new region.

Dubbed Blue Tears Season, Version 1.7 hints at a darker storyline in Infinity Nikki, as players will find themselves uncovering the truth behind the Wishing One’s murder. It will introduce a new Limited Banner to Infinity Nikki, featuring a 5-Star outfit with a serpent theme, and a 4-Star outfit with a moth theme. Version 1.7 will also have a rerun of Blooming Dreams, albeit in the second half of the patch. In terms of gameplay, Infinity Nikki players can explore the Serpentine Ruins, a story dungeon which will presumably become a new Realm of Eureka in Version 1.8.

Infinity Nikki: Blue Tears Season Dives Deep Into Wishfield’s Distant Past

It’s important to keep in mind that Version 1.7 won’t make any changes to the dye system in Infinity Nikki, nor is it implied that the game will revert to its original prologue. These have been the key issues that sparked the Infinity Nikki boycott, and it may be a while until the developers address them – if they ever do. What Version 1.7 is seeking to address is a lack of human characters and more mature storytelling. This will be the first time since Version 1.2 that the quests will revolve around the human inhabitants of Wishfield.

While it won’t feature any new maps or the long-awaited housing system, Infinity Nikki players can look forward to the latter arriving in Version 1.8. As for the former, Infold is hard at work on creating an ambitious new region for Version 2.0. Version 1.7 will come with a myriad of smaller quality-of-life improvements, such as allowing Momo to pose with players in Infinity Nikki‘s Photo Mode or expanding the Color Lookbook system. It’s expected to launch on July 7, 2025.
