Hot Springs are great to help Sam relax after a long day of deliveries, fighting human enemies, avoiding voidouts from BTs, and generally just carrying the heavy burden of a hard life. If Sam is to keep on keeping on in Death Stranding 2, then why not treat him to a nice and soothing Hot Spring that not only feels good but grants unique rewards like bonuses to stamina, along with two unique trophies?

How to Find Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2
Where to Find Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2
There are a total of 9 Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2, but players will not be able to access any of them until they have connected Heartman’s Lab to the Chiral Network with Main Order 23 from the Dowser, and connected the Motherhood with Main Order 26 from the Data Scientist. With these two facilities online, head to the Motherhood where just outside will be a pool of warm water. Players can now interact with the hot water by standing inside and holding the Square button, which will have Sam take his clothes off and bathe inside the Hot Spring. It’s also worth noting that if Sam decides to use a Hot Spring after 8 PM (in-game time), then Dollman will sing Ii Yu Da Na by Cha Kato. The journey doesn’t end there, as if players continue through the Hot Spring, they can earn two trophies, which are explained below:
How to Get the Spring Into Life Trophy in Death Stranding 2
Dig a Hot Spring for the First Time in Death Stranding 2
The Spring into Life trophy in Death Stranding 2 is achieved once players dig a hot spring for the first time. However, this trophy will not be available until players find their first Hot Spring. The first Hot Spring is found just outside of The Motherhood facility, which players will visit during Main Order 26 from the Data Scientist. Once players are inside the Hot Spring, hold Square to bathe, and then hold Square again for the prompt that reads Put Bucket on Head. Once players have put the bucket on Sam’s head, they will be immediately dragged under the water and teleported to a strange room, which is the Hot Spring in Heartman’s Lab.
From here, leave the Hot Spring and interact with the terminal just outside the door, which will have players converse with the Hydrologist at Heartman’s Lab. After speaking with the Hydrologist, players will receive the Hot Spring Digger Structure Data for the PCC Level 2. With this upgrade acquired, it’s time to open the map and look at the Aid Requests in the Options screen to find a Hot Spring location north west of Heartman’s Lab. Players will want to venture to this location and use the PCC Lv2 to summon a Hot Spring Digger. Doing so will create a new Hot Spring for players to use, and immediately pop the Spring into Life trophy for Death Stranding 2. Be sure to return to Heartman’s Lab to share the discovery with the Hydrologist for a reward!
How to Get the Written in the Stars Trophy in Death Stranding 2
Study the Night Sky for the First Time in Death Stranding 2
The Written in the Stars trophy can only be obtained during the night, and the weather must have a clear sky. This means that it cannot be cloudy or raining, so if it is, then feel free to sleep to skip time until it’s a night with a clear sky. After it’s a night with a clear sky, enter any Hot Spring. From within the Hot Spring, hold L1 to enter 1st person. Once players are in the 1st person mode, they can look around at the sky to view the constellation of stars. Each Hot Spring has its own unique constellation of stars to look at, so while some players might see Lou in the stars, others might see Hideo Kojima himself. Once players stare at a constellation and an image appears, the Written in the Stars trophy will pop.

There are a total of 9 Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2, and players can find the location of each of them in the table above. Players will not have to worry about traveling to Mexico, as all Hot Springs are found in Australia. The easiest way to find each Hot Spring is to head in the general area and then equip a Hot Spring Digger with the PCC Lvl2, as while players hold this device, it will beep louder if players are going the right way. Each Hot Spring has a unique effect that can be obtained once Sam swims within one of them, and since they must be crafted with a Hot Spring Digger, players can return to the Hydrologist at Heartman’s Lab to obtain a unique reward each time. Hot Springs are not just used to replenish stamina; Hot Springs are used to fast travel. The fast travel points are only between each Hot Spring, and players cannot bring their cargo with them.
