Pokemon GO Adding Gen 6 Pokemon in Upcoming Event

Pokemon GO has revealed the dual-type Steel/Ghost Pokemon Honedge and its evolutions, Doublade and Aegislash, are making their debut on July 22 as part of a limited event. First introduced in Generation 6’s Kalos Region, the three new additions to Pokemon GO all resemble medieval weapons, with Aegislash boasting a unique ability to shift between its Shield and Blade Forme in battle.

The Kalos Pokemon are part of the new Pokemon GO season Delightful Days, which launched on June 3. The summer-themed season has seen a number of new Pokemon being added to the monster-collecting mobile game, including all three forms of the sushi-themed Tatsugiri, the Galarian Electric dog Pokemon Yamper, and the Hisuian form of the Grass-type Lilligant. Honedge’s addition marks the first Pokemon from the Kalos Region to be added to Pokemon GO this season, which could hint at future additions from Gen 6.
