Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for July 2025, highlighting seven games that will be added to the subscription service in the next two weeks. Microsoft likes to focus on the new Xbox Game Pass games coming soon, giving fans updates on the titles that they can expect to be added every couple of weeks.
While Xbox Game Pass additions used to be fairly straightforward, Microsoft’s decision to split the service into multiple tiers has made things a little more complicated. Xbox Game Pass Standard is what the original Game Pass is now called, and it rarely receives day one games. Xbox Game Pass Core offers the smallest selection of Game Pass games, but comes with the benefits that used to be associated with Xbox Live Gold, namely online multiplayer access. PC Game Pass is at its name suggests – Game Pass for PC – and finally, there is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes all the benefits featured in the lower tiers of the service plus exclusive perks.

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service has been on a generational roll these last few months, and there really doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
With the tier differences in mind, subscribers can look forward to Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana coming to Game Pass Standard on July 2, while Ultimate Chicken Horse will be coming to all tiers minus Core on July 3. The Ascent will be making its Game Pass return on July 8 across Ultimate, PC, and Standard, while Minami Lane is coming to Ultimate and PC on July 9. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be a day one game when it joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on July 11, and finally, High on Life is coming to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on July 15.

High on Life was once a day one Xbox Game Pass game, but was eventually removed from the service. It was recently confirmed that High on Life 2 will be a day one Xbox Game Pass game itself, and so it makes sense to bring the original game back into the fold. This way, subscribers that missed out on it the first time around can give it a shot and prepare themselves for the sequel.
These aren’t the only games confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass July 2025 lineup. We know that Wheel World is coming on July 23, while Soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is making its debut on July 24. Finally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can look forward to playing Grounded 2 through the Game Preview program on July 29.
