World of Warcraft has finally revealed the Adorned Half Shell as a Twitch Drop players can earn as part of the Twitch Summer Drops Fest, with the reward also being released to celebrate the release of Patch 11.1.7. By watching four hours of any World of Warcraft channel on Twitch from July 14 through August 11, fans can add this Ninja Turtles-esque transmog item to their collections.
On June 17, World of Warcraft released Patch 11.1.7, titled Legacy of Arathor. However, unlike every single major update since Dragonflight’s launch in November 2022, World of Warcraft did not give away a Twitch Drop to celebrate the patch’s release.

World of Warcraft offers players a glimpse of what they can purchase at the Trading Post throughout July, including a new mount and various ensembles.
Now, the real reason for this absence in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 has been revealed: Blizzard was saving the giveaway to be held as a part of Twitch’s Summer Drops Fest. By watching four hours of any World of Warcraft streamer on Twitch from July 14 through August 11, players can earn the Adorned Half Shell back transmog. Though World of Warcraft nor Twitch revealed a screenshot of the item, WoW content creator MrGM shared an image of what the cosmetic looks like on Twitter.
How to Get World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 Twitch Drop
- Connect one’s Twitch and Battle.net accounts via the Connections page on Twitch.
- From July 14 through August 11, watch four hours of any World of Warcraft channel on Twitch to earn the Adorned Half Shell back transmog.
- Claim the drop from the Twitch inventory page.
- The Adorned Half Shell should be automatically added to the Warband cosmetic Collections pane within 24 hours.
The Adorned Half Shell is a cosmetic back transmog item that can be used by any race and class in World of Warcraft. It is similar to the Heroic Half Shell from WoW’s Trading Post catalog in May, but with additional East Asian-styled embellishments and adornments. When combined with the Vigilante Masks and Renaissance weapons from May’s Trading Post, fans can easily make some excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired looks.
The end date for this new Twitch Drop may hold some additional significance as well. Since partway through Dragonflight, World of Warcraft has been releasing content updates approximately every eight weeks. This cadence suggests World of Warcraft Patch 11.2, Ghosts of K’aresh, could drop on August 12 – the day after this Twitch Drop ends. While far from confirmation, this conspicuous campaign end date certainly points towards Patch 11.2 releasing on or around that time.
