Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that Space Marine 2 has had a lot of leaks, and Saber has finally confirmed a whole heap of them, including the long-awaited Techmarine class. There have been a lot of questions about the future of the game’s content, with a lot of people speculating on the potential for new weapons all the way to a new faction in Space Marine 2.
Over the past year, dataminers have been able to find plenty of details about the game before they are ready for release, giving the community an inside track on Saber’s future content plans. Now, many of these leaks have been vindicated in the recent June community update, which has revealed which leaks are true and which are yet unconfirmed, setting a precedent for the credibility of future Space Marine 2 leaks.

Despite the Techmarine Class’ Confirmation, Space Marine 2’s Leaks Haven’t Always Been So Clear-Cut
A Lot of Leaks Have Come True Already
Many of the game’s current features, such as the Datavault and Siege Mode, appeared first in leaks. One of the game’s earliest leaks, found less than a month after the game came out, were leaks of Mk 6 and 7 power armor parts. The volume of leaks only picked up with the introduction of the public test server. Many of the game’s current cosmetics were revealed in datamines thanks to the PTS, and it has remained a consistent source of information ever since.
Other Leaked Content Is Still Unconfirmed
The Inceptor Bolt Pistol has been in the game for a long time, fuelling many rumors about future content, yet it has remained unused since. It wasn’t the only one, though, as the Pyreblaster, a weapon from the campaign, appeared in a new part of the game files, indicating plans to bring it into multiplayer. One of the biggest missing items leaked more recently is the Chaos Spawn. Judging by the modder Hypexus’ footage, it appears to be almost ready, but Saber has yet to acknowledge it despite the other Chaos updates.
A few Siege Mode leaks have also not materialized, such as a reference to summoning a Space Marine tank using points, which could suggest it might appear in a later update to the mode. Fresh skins emerged in the files several months ago for chapters that had already received Champion skins in Space Marine 2, causing some confusion about whether these were half-finished variations, or will be added in the future. Also around this time, a large swathe of details were uncovered about future Operations, including mission names and progress steps, indicating big plans for PVE.
One Leak in Particular Could Have Been a Trap for Dataminers
One of the biggest datamines leaked future DLC content for Space Marine 2, spelling out the order of seasons each chapter would receive a Champion skin. This leak was suspicious at the time, as there was little reason to believe future content plans would be stored in the game files, but its legacy is even more confusing. While the seasons and featured chapters don’t quite add up, the order of releases is roughly accurate to real life, although, with Saber’s habit of teasing dataminers, it’s hard to say what the intention was for certain.

All the Leaks Saber Newly Confirmed for Future Space Marine 2 Updates
The Techmarine Class Is Finally Here
The long awaited Techmarine class first leaked in April with the Trygon update. Easily the biggest news item, there were three distinct cases when mentions of the Techmarine appeared in the code, with references to a power halberd and shoulder-mounted Boltgun. Ever since the game was released, many fans have been speculating on what new classes Saber could add, and it doesn’t need to stop with the Techmarine.
Chaos Customization Is Finally in Sight
The leak with the most visual confirmation was Chaos customization. Ever since the game’s launch, it has been mysteriously lacking, with Saber saying its focus is on the loyalist Marines, as Chaos is only available in PVP. However, numerous Chaos skins have leaked, indicating progress was being made on Chaos customization coming to Space Marine 2. The June community update confirmed its coming in patch 10.0, alongside a new mode.
Dreadnought Assault Returns From Space Marine 1, With a Twist
A fan-favorite and slightly controversial mode, Dreadnought Assault is being revived with a distinctly chaotic twist. Both teams will play as Chaos and seem to be competing for control of a Helbrute, but how it differs from Space Marine 1 remains to be seen. This was the most recent leak to emerge from datamined files as it first appeared in Siege Mode’s public release, so the fact that Saber confirmed it almost instantly is very interesting.
There’s a Power Axe and Possibly a Polearm
The Power Axe has been one of the most hotly requested new weapons for Space Marine 2, and now it’s official. But while it’s the only newly leaked weapon to be confirmed, it’s likely not the only one, as alongside the Techmarine leaks were mentions of a Power Halberd. Presumably, this is the iconic long-hafted axe that Space Marines are often depicted with, and will likely be unique to the class. The question that remains around the Power Axe is whether Chaos will get a Chainaxe variant, as many World Eaters fans will probably be very keen to get one for their Vanguard.
What Saber’s Acknowledgment Suggests for Future Leaks
Beyond the simple acknowledgment of these leaks, this bodes well for the future. While it might seem ridiculous that Saber wouldn’t release fully developed skins revealed in leaks, it’s worth mentioning that until confirmed, a leak is just an indication of things to come, and game development is far from straightforward. This is why the announcement lends so much credibility to future leaks, and fans should have a lot more content to look forward to in the future, such as Space Marine 2’s Champion skins becoming customizable, and undoubtedly, even more leaks in the future.
