October Could Be a Big Month for Halo Fans

Halo Studios has finally indicated it will reveal more details about its latest work within the Halo franchise on October 24 at Halo World Championship in Seattle. Formerly known as 343 Industries, this developer made its last big announcement at Halo World Championship 2024, when it rebranded to Halo Studios and revealed that the future of Halo games would be on Unreal Engine 5. Fans have been wondering when the next details will be revealed, and it seems the developers have provided a fairly definitive answer.

This news follows recent rumors of a big Halo announcement later this year. That rumor came from an attendee of the Halo Championship Series Open in Dallas, who spoke to a Halo Studios representative who said there would be a major announcement later in 2025. The most recent revelations from Halo Studios indicate that this rumor was indeed true, which will undoubtedly have some fans wondering how many of the other rumors are accurate.

Halo games have long had a mixed relationship to the dozens of Halo books but this relationship could be strengthened in the inevitable Halo 7

According to a blog post from Halo Studios, fans can expect to learn more about Project Foundry and the future of the Halo franchise at Halo World Championship this October 24. Although the developers are still tight-lipped about exactly what will be revealed at this event, they have at least clarified when and where fans will learn more about its most recent developments. This announcement follows the revelation earlier this month that a new book called Halo: Edge of Dawn was coming soon.

Halo Studios to Reveal More Development Details at Halo World Championship

In this latest blog post, Halo Studios indicated that the developers have been paying attention to speculation from fans of the franchise, insisting that the only way to get the “real scoop” is at Halo World Championship 2025. It’s worth noting that the only rumors that have proven accurate reportedly came from Halo Studios either directly or indirectly. Rumors range from a Halo: Combat Evolved remake to the official announcement of Halo 7, but nobody has been able to confirm anything just yet.

Considering that 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Halo franchise, it would make sense for Halo Studios to make a pretty significant announcement at the Halo World Championship. Xbox previously teased big plans for the Halo anniversary in 2026, and this latest revelation falls right in line with that timeframe. With that in mind, fans might want to consider taking this blog post from the developers as a friendly hint that this event will probably be an important one to attend.
