How to Get ‘Touch Grass’ & ‘Speed Run’ Achievements in Date Everything

Date Everything has some really tricky achievements/trophies for players to unlock. While some are more focused on a completionist playthrough, others require players to do some more unusual things while they date the various household objects in the game. In this guide, I’ll run through how to get the ‘Touch Grass’ and ‘Speed Run’ achievements within the space of five minutes so you can add both of them to your collection.

The ‘Touch Grass’ achievement requires players to have ‘Left the house before realizing anything,’ while the ‘Speed Run’ achievement is unlocked by leaving the house during the first day in Date Everything. As such, to get both of these nice and quickly, I’m going to recommend that you start a new save game if you’re already working your way through romancing or angering the various characters in the game.

How to Quickly Get the ‘Touch Grass’ and ‘Speed Run’ Achievements/Trophies in Date Everything

Forget Dating!

Both achievements can be unlocked at the same time by starting a new game, ignoring pretty much everything after the initial chat conversations on your computer and phone, and leaving the house.

After the opening chats with your work colleagues and the returns customers, you’ll briefly need to speak to Skylar, but choose the dismissive dialogue options. As soon as the conversation is finished, take off the Dateviators by pressing Y/Triangle and interacting with the front door (which you’d normally scan with the Dateviators to first meet Dorian).

When you interact with the door, some dialogue will appear, essentially telling you that the game will end if you choose to leave the house. Confirm your option by selecting the ‘Leave’ option, and your character will step out of the door.

stay or leave decision in date eveything

At this stage, you’ll have unlocked the ‘Speed Run’ achievement/trophy.

Once your character steps outside, a bit more dialogue will play about how all the incessant text at the beginning of the game had brought you to your breaking point and you completed the game with enough time to get a refund. After this dialogue, the credits will roll, at which point the ‘Touch Grass’ achievement/ trophy will be unlocked.

While both achievements are done for leaving the house at different stages, because the ‘realization’ mechanic doesn’t get introduced until you’ve romanced 10 different characters in Date Everything, you can unlock them both on the first day.

Once the credits have rolled, you can then choose to either continue the game in New Game Plus, or just start over. I started a new game just to get these two achievements before loading up my actual save.

There are some other tricky achievements/ trophies in Date Everything, such as Game Over and Glitch City. They, at least, require you to engage with the gameplay mechanics a little bit more.
