Genshin Impact Leaks Major Ineffa Changes

The latest beta build for Genshin Impact has made some notable changes to Ineffa, weakening her ability kit while improving Lunar-Charged as an Elemental Reaction. While most eyes are on Nod-Krai, Genshin Impact has one more update to deliver before it bids Natlan farewell. Version 5.8 will introduce the first permanent Summer Event zone, a prologue for the next Archon Quest Chapter, and Ineffa – a 5-Star Electro Polearm character from Nod-Krai.

Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact is intended to be a hub of converging storylines, and while Ineffa may not belong to the Hexenzirkel, Knights of Favonius, or the Fatui Harbingers, she will introduce players to the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop. As an artificial construct built from technology scavenged all over Teyvat, Ineffa is thematically similar to characters like Wanderer or Albedo. However, from a gameplay standpoint, she is most similar to Emilie and Fischl.

Predicting how Genshin Impact’s next playable character will compare to the current meta team compositions for support and DPS characters.

According to HomDGCat, Ineffa has received a major nerf to her Elemental Skill. While this greatly reduces her personal damage, Ineffa’s contribution to the team should still remain the same. To balance out the nerf, the latest beta build has also buffed the damage multipliers for Lunar-Charged. The new Elemental Reaction will now be a direct upgrade over Electro-Charged, which should hopefully open up a variety of new Genshin Impact teams.

  • Direct Lunar-Charged

    • Some characters can directly deal Lunar-Charged DMG based on ATK. The base DMG of this is ATK × Multiplier.
    • Also ignores DEF, and is affected by the Elemental Mastery Bonus.
    • The final DMG dealt is 300% of the original DMG.

While not officially confirmed by HoYoverse, Ineffa in Genshin Impact is seen as a preview of Nod-Krai’s combat mechanic. Whereas Natlan had Nightsoul, and Fontaine had Arkhe, many players suspect that the Song of the Welkin Moon will introduce Lunar Reactions as a way to make underwhelming Elemental Reactions shine. Recent leaks claim that Version 6.0 will introduce a 5-Star Geo Female who will bring Lunar-Crystallize to the table, paired with a 5-Star Electro Male as Ineffa’s best teammate.

As such, Genshin Impact players should plan their pulls accordingly. Even though Support characters are always a valuable investment, Ineffa won’t be the only option to engage with Nod-Krai’s combat mechanic. Players who have Electro or Hydro hypercarries will get plenty of mileage from obtaining Ineffa in Version 6.0. However, others should try to save their Primogems in Genshin Impact until the cast of Nod-Krai is officially unveiled. While endgame activities tend to push currently featured characters, Electro-Charged offers Ororon as a notable alternative. If previous beta cycles are anything to go by, it’s unlikely that Ineffa will receive any further changes. Version 5.8 is set to launch on July 30, 2025.
