Ubisoft confirmed that Renown currency gains in Rainbow Six Siege X have been buffed, so players should have a more rewarding experience in the game going forward. Following the release of Rainbow Six Siege X, Renown currency and its low payouts have been a point of criticism towards the game throughout the month of June.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Siege X released on June 10 alongside the Operation Daybreak season, marking the biggest update to Ubisoft’s team-based tactical shooter to date. The update proved to be a major success, as Rainbow Six Siege X has seen its player count on Steam rise by more than double to 142,000 concurrent players shortly after launch. Rainbow Six Siege X brought a number of changes and gameplay overhauls, addressing the community’s concerns with quality of life improvements to visuals, audio, and mechanics. The update also brought five modernized maps, a new 6v6 mode, directional audio improvements, a new communication wheel, balance changes, additional operator dialogues, and Enlisted and Field Training playlists. Although there has been a lot of content and features that have pleased players, the low Renown payouts have not gone over well with some players, and Ubisoft appears to have been quickly made aware of the community’s criticism.

How to Fix Rainbow Six Siege Server Connection Error
Many players encounter a server connection error when trying to launch Rainbow Six Siege X. Here’s how to fix it.
In an interview with PC Gamer, Rainbow Six Siege X creative director Alex Karpazis acknowledged that players weren’t pleased with the low Renown gains and a “buff” had already been rolled out. Karapazis noticed that the payouts were close to 10% less than what Rainbow Six Siege gave out before the launch of Rainbow Six Siege X, and the “communication online” from players helped acknowledge the low payouts while looking at in-game data. Although match rewards will not be restored to what they were before Rainbow Six Siege X, Karpazis notes that the game has already introduced several new Renown rewards with daily and weekly challenges. Moreover, Karpazis reminds players that there’s a new 1,000 Renown reward for reaching the next Clearance Level.
Rainbow Six Siege X Receives a Renown Payout Buff After Getting Some Feedback From Players
According to the creative director, the goal of the Renown buff is not to change the amount of grind to unlock operators and other rewards in Rainbow Six Siege X. However, Karpazis reassures players that those who have less time to play can still get more rewards for their time spent. Another goal for the Renown buff was to equalize the payout across all modes so that there isn’t one that is distinctly ideal to grind in more than another.
XP boosters for Rainbow Six Siege X will also be addressed in the future, according to Karpazis. The development team at Ubisoft needs more time to see how the Renown buff balances out gains in the game, and Karpazis notes that the team does not want to devalue the boosters players have and how they can get more in the future.
