Monster Hunter Wilds Releases Highly Anticipated Title Update 2

Capcom has released the anticipated Title Update 2 for the action-RPG Monster Hunter Wilds, and players are already voicing their opinion on several matters, both past and present. Monster Hunter Wilds was first launched back in February 2025, serving as a successor to 2018’s Monster Hunter: World. Players return to the franchise to play as a hunter, once again, and are tasked with exploring the Forbidden Lands. Furthermore, Wilds is the first title in the developer’s long-running series where cross-platform play is supported.

Selling more than 8 million copies within three days of its release, Monster Hunter Wilds received a lot of praise, particularly for its strong story and open-world updates, but some technical mishaps hindered the game from reaching its full potential. Monster Hunter Wilds lost about 98% of its Steam player base in June, in part due to a bout of review-bombing, but the anticipated Title Update 2 content is expected to pull back a fair number of deserters.

Monster Hunter Wilds Launches Free Title Update 2

The Monster Hunter community was previously quick to notice Capcom prematurely announced Wilds’ Title Update 2 release date, and players are continuously giving the studio feedback on certain points within the update and in previous gameplay, like the ongoing performance issue. The fandom has relentlessly flagged the game’s optimization that results in under-par graphics, but some players also seem to be experiencing some crashing issues since the update went live.

One of the main changes featured in Title Update 2 is the reintroduction of underwater combat in Monster Hunter Wilds. After it was confirmed that fan-favorite monsters Lagiacrus and Seregios were returning to the new entry, players were encouraged to abandon their expectations when it came to the former’s underwater action. Nautical mechanics have been a part of the series before, but instead of being free to use weapons underwater, restrictions are in place to change up gameplay slightly.
