With Helldivers 2’s ongoing Galactic War lasting for over a year by now, the fight for managed democracy has continued to spread across countless planets, far beyond the handful of planets on the outskirts of the galaxy where the war first started. Not long ago, the Galactic War even made its way to the heart of democracy when the Illuminate invaded Super Earth in Helldivers 2. Thankfully, though, the Helldivers and their fellow SEAF troops rallied to save their home planet by defeating this alien threat, and players who helped participate in this battle have been rewarded with bragging rights in the form of a stylish new commemorative cape in Helldivers 2.
Thus far in the Galactic War, players have been able to discover minor points of interest (POIs) throughout most mission types, which typically offer ammo, support weapons, and/or collectibles like samples and Super Credits. Naturally, the distinction of being a ‘minor’ POI begs the question of whether there will ever be major or super POIs in Helldivers 2. So, even after the Galactic War has already reached Super Earth and is constantly spreading to new, never-before-seen planets, this burning question remains a mystery, though it may not for much longer.

Helldivers 2 has only begun doling out special commemorative capes, and its future is bright with storytelling and Major Order potential.
Helldivers 2’s Minor POIs Foreshadow the Existence of Major POIs
By now, many players likely know that the best method of farming super credits in Helldivers 2 is to play missions on the lowest difficulty, completely avoiding the main and side objectives to prioritize discovering and looting minor POIs. With Stratagems like the LIFT-850 Jump Pack or the M-102 Fast Recon Vehicle, players can quickly clear a full map this way, then quit the mission to select another and repeat this process, earning a couple of hundred Super credits every hour.
By quitting an in-progress mission, players won’t keep any samples collected, but Medals, Requisition Slips, and Super Credits collected will be kept.
Helldivers 2’s Devs Are Planning Changes to Super Credit Farming
Given that this Super Credit farm allows players to quickly stock up on Premium in-game currency to purchase new Warbonds and Superstore items, it’s understandable that Arrowhead Game Studios has recently announced that they are planning changes to how players earn Super Credits in Helldivers 2. While nothing specific has been mentioned yet, and these changes still have yet to be released, this arguably sounds like the perfect opportunity to finally introduce major or super POIs.
Coincidentally, the distinction of ‘minor’ POIs in Helldivers 2 has always hinted at a wider variety of POIs that have yet to be discovered. Hence, with Arrowhead Game Studios already planning changes to how players earn Super Credits, among other possibilities, this could mean that major POIs could finally be a reality in future updates for Helldivers 2, since they haven’t been introduced this far in the Galactic War, surprisingly.
How Helldivers 2 Could Make Major POIs Live Up to Their Name
Given that major POIs could play a key role in how players earn Super Credits in the near future, or otherwise offer some seriously generous loot, this could mean that they might be limited to exclusively spawning on missions on the highest difficulty in Helldivers 2, like Terminid Mega Nests and Automaton Fortresses. This way, major POIs could be an additional incentive to play on the highest difficulty.
Based on the minor POIs that have those pesky bunker doors that require two players to open and reveal their loot, a major POI could have a similar locked door that requires a full team of four players to open. By requiring players to effectively coordinate on a level 10 mission to discover and unlock a major POI, this could be a challenge worth rewarding players with loot that’s presumably much more valuable and plentiful than what any minor POI could ever offer.
