Classic PS1 Game Update Adds Trophy Support

The classic PS1 action-adventure title Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee now has Trophy support on the PS Store. Those jumping into the game as part of their PS Plus Premium subscription will now be able to strive for the Platinum Trophy in Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, with 30 unique achievements needed before snagging the ultimate prize.

Released in 1997 for the original PlayStation, Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee quickly earned critical and commercial acclaim, with players quick to praise its gameplay, unique art style, and impressive cutscenes for the time. While its difficulty made it a challenge for more casual players, it went on to sell 3.5 million copies by December 2012, making it one of the best-selling games on Sony’s first gaming platform. While a remake, titled Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, was released in 2014, physical versions remain exceedingly rare, with the PlayStation 4 version limited to only 5,000 copies. Since being added to PlayStation’s subscription service in 2022, more players have been able to experience this beloved title, and now, many will have a new release to pick up this bizarre release.
