PlayStation Plus just turned 15 years old; Sony’s subscription service officially rolled out on June 29, 2010. Since then, it has undergone a few iterations, with some of the changes to tiers, pricing, and the titles on offer not always being completely welcomed by subscribers. Still, PlayStation Plus continues to offer a good variety of games each month for its three levels of service. Sony recently unveiled the lineup for July, which will let members across all tiers check out Jusant, Diablo 4, and The King of Fighters 15.
June’s selection actually contained more giveaways than usual, with Destiny 2: The Final Shape and the divisive version of Grand Theft Auto 3: Definitive Edition being added. Along with these, a classic survival horror combo was also announced, but Sony has yet to provide a firm date for them, which is more than a little odd given the circumstances.

When Will the PS1 Ports of Resident Evil 2 and RE3: Nemesis Hit PS Plus Premium
Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Coming to PS Plus Premium is Great News, But…
Back in early June, just before the Summer Game Fest, Sony hosted its State of Play showcase. As part of that and the related Days of Play special deals for the month, the studio surprised PS Plus members by announcing that the PlayStation 1 versions of Resident Evil 2 and RE3: Nemesis will be coming to PS Plus Premium. While these two seminal games being given out as bonuses is a positive, the caveat is that there’s still no firm release window other than the vague “later this summer” that was originally given. Now that July’s titles are known, and the next batch of deals for PS Plus’ 15th anniversary have also been unveiled, fans are still left wondering when exactly the old-school versions of RE2 and Nemesis will be available.
Time is Running Out
During the aforementioned Summer Game Fest, Resident Evil Requiem was finally revealed, along with its release that’s currently set for February 26, 2026. The OG second and third REs are both timely and excellent choices for inclusion on Premium, giving players a chance to experience the originals for a nostalgia factor, as well as to see how far the franchise has come since.
On top of all this, Capcom’s Spotlight took place on June 26 and showed more of Resident Evil Requiem, further fanning the hype for it and the franchise. The old-school Resident Evil 2 and RE3: Nemesis are undeniably classics, and it makes a lot of sense that they’d be part of this deal, as Capcom has shared a close relationship with Sony over the years, particularly with RE.
The issue is that even now after July’s reveals, Sony has yet to say exactly when Resident Evil 2 and RE3: Nemesis will hit PS Plus Premium, and as the summer goes on, there are already lots of other (and much newer) upcoming titles that will be clamoring for players’ time and attention. The more the delay in informing members of when they can expect these, the more the risk that the Sony and RE buzz trains will lose at least a bit of relevance and steam, and players might forget. Hopefully the precise date comes soon, so that fans can be sure to grab them before they get lost in the shuffle.
