If you’ve played Persona 5 before, then you already know that every playable character has access to their own type of ranged attack with a gun during battle to dish out… You guessed it, Gun damage. Some enemies, like the iconic SMT demon, the Pixie, are weak to Guns, so if you can hit them a few times with bullets, they’ll end up incapacitated for a bit, allowing you to perform an All-Out Attack with your party.
It turns out that the gun gameplay mechanic is locked (at first!) in Persona 5 Phantom X during battle, but you can unlock its use after you play the game for a few hours and progress the main story. Here’s how to unlock the gun in P5X.

When Do You Get Guns in Persona 5 The Phantom X?
Pay a Visit to the Weapons Shop
Luckily, you don’t need to do anything special or out of the ordinary to use your guns in Persona 5: The Phantom X –you just need to reach a certain part of the story a few hours in.
Once you reach the point of Kiuchi’s Palace where Motoha Arai awakens her Persona during a fight, she will text you later on to ask you if you have time to hang out after school the next day. She’ll take you to Munehusa Iwai’s Airsoft shop (which you should remember if you played the base game).
The man will teach you all about upgrading and switching out weapons. Once you’re done, keep progressing the story until you end up in the Metaverse with Motoha and Lufel. There will be an unskippable tutorial about using guns in battle with a couple of demons.
How to Use Guns in Persona 5 Phantom X
You simply select the Gun option on the combat menu, and then you can choose the enemy you want to shoot. You can continue to use your gun until the ammo runs out (this will replenish over time automatically). You can check to see if an enemy might be weak to Gun damage by checking Intel (LB/L1 if you’re using a PS or Xbox controller).
Once you decide to use your gun during a turn, you won’t be able to use another move right after. The gun counts as a regular move, even if you just shoot one bullet.
