A Pokemon fan has shared the incredible watch that they had customized based upon their favorite Pokemon TCG card, Surfing Pikachu. The charming tribute is adorable and well-executed, and has gained the attention of plenty of Pokemon fans.
Surfing Pikachu has been a popular variant of the mascot Pokemon ever since its introduction to the franchise back in 1998. Initially appearing in Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Yellow, Surfing Pikachu’s popularity saw its appearances expand to the anime, manga, Pokemon GO, and of course, the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The Surfing Pikachu TCG card is what this fan utilized as a reference for their watch.

On Reddit, user xgeuario has shared an adorable watch that they had custom-made featuring Surfing Pikachu. The Tissot-brand watch’s band and hands are completely ordinary, but the face of the watch has been hand-painted with an image of Pikachu surfing on a pink surfboard across blue ocean waves. Xgeuario took a photo of the watch next to the Surfing Pikachu card, which was clearly the inspiration for the painting on the watch. As they put it, this custom watch was their way of combining two of their expensive collecting hobbies, putting a nice watch together with one of their favorite Pokemon cards.

Numerous users have complimented xgeuario on their watch, calling it cute, cool, and even joking that they would try and pickpocket it off of the user if they saw it in real life, because they like Surfing Pikachu and the watch design so much. Several have said that they would love to buy one for themselves, and wanted to know where to get it. Xgeuario responded that they had it custom-made by a company called IFL Watches that specializes in bespoke watches with hand-painted faces like this one. Though the watch in question isn’t on the list of works on the company’s website, it does take custom orders, which was likely how the Surfing Pikachu watch was ordered.
Although this is a unique piece, Pokemon watches in general aren’t anything new, and have been rather popular over the years. In addition to official Pokemon watches that are available for sale, many fans have also utilized the customization options of smart watches to add custom Pokemon flare to their clocks.
