Pokemon Fan Creates Impressive Pokemon Blue Cartridge Rug


A talented Pokemon fan recently shared their intricate handmade rug with the community on social media, with the creation faithfully depicting the Pokemon Blue game cartridge for the Game Boy. Countless members of the Pokemon fandom take to the internet each day to share their unique creations across many different mediums, inspiring even more gamers to pay tribute to their favorite characters and titles through arts and crafts.

The recent release of the Switch 2 has injected even more excitement into the Pokemon community, as several new games are slated for release in the near future. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will come to both Nintendo’s original Switch and the Switch 2 on October 16, bringing with it new Mega Evolutions and the return of Alpha Pokemon from 2022’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus. On the Pokemon subreddit, user princejashad shared an incredible image of their handmade Pokemon Blue rug, stating that the creation took them several weeks to make. The rug itself looks exactly like the Game Boy cartridge, down to every groove, and the creator faithfully included the console’s insignia above Blastoise and the bright yellow Pokemon logo. One user in the comments section asked if the artist took requests, as this isn’t the first rug they’ve made and shared on the site. The creator has made rugs inspired by many other popular franchises, such as Mega Man, One Piece, and Gundam. Earlier this year, another Reddit user shared their Pokemon Red rug, also stunning the community with their talent.

During Pokemon Day in February, several exciting tidbits about the franchise’s future were shared, along with teases regarding projects in the works. Pokemon TCG Pocket will continue to see new updates, with the most recent expansion, Eevee Grove, released on June 26. The biggest surprise to many viewers was the reveal of Pokemon Champions, a new battle simulator that is confirmed to have both smartphone and Nintendo Switch compatibility. While no release date has been announced, players can expect ranked matches, Pokemon HOME connectivity, and more.

Fans are now eagerly awaiting the next Pokemon Presents stream on July 22, which will likely reveal more about Pokemon Legends: Z-A ahead of its launch this fall. While somewhat unlikely, the community is keeping their fingers crossed, as the developers could potentially give fans their first look at Gen 10.
