Marvel Rivals Reveals Patch Notes for July 3 Update

Marvel Rivals has detailed what players can expect from the game when the next update goes live on July 3. This update comes just a week after Marvel Rivals‘ most recent patch, which dropped on June 26 and included an adjustment to one of the game’s features.

The June 26 patch changed how surrendering works in Marvel Rivals, now requiring fewer votes. With this change, a team of six players needs five votes to surrender, while a squad of five players needs four votes to escape matches ruined by troublemakers. The June 26 update added new items to the in-game store, releasing a new skin for the Punisher based on the show Daredevil: Born Again. Thor also gained the Legendary Majestic Rainment skin, giving the Norse god an impressive makeover based on the costume he wore in X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1 from 2023. Now, Marvel Rivals shows what players can expect next.

How Marvel Rivals’ Winter Soldier Lore Transcends Backstory

Marvel Rivals puts a lot of fun spins on beloved Marvel heroes and villains, but the Winter Soldier’s in-game lore transcends simple backstory.

Marvel Rivals has revealed the Version 20250703 patch, which will be available on July 3 at 2 am PT. The highlight of the update is the two new Marvel Rivals skins that will be available for purchase starting July 3 at 7 pm PT. Captain America will receive the Captain Klyntar skin, with Steve Rogers wearing a venomized suit based on the one seen in 2017’s Edge of Venomverse #1. The second skin will be for Spider-Man, dressing the hero in the white suit from his time in the Future Foundation, the famous comic book group led by Reed Richards. Like previous skins, these cosmetics will be available in bundles that also come with an MVP, emote, nameplate, and spray.

The July 3 Marvel Rivals update will also fix bugs affecting Thor, Magneto, and Psylocke. A high latency issue was causing Thor’s Thorforce to behave erratically, resulting in the character’s abilities being canceled. The problem affecting Magneto’s Magnetic Resonance and Psylocke’s Psychic Echoes caused the heroes to incorrectly trigger effects when getting a kill or assist, such as Loki’s Laufeyson Reborn and Thor’s Laufeyson Reborn.

While the July 3 patch is small, Marvel Rivals is gearing up for an even bigger update with the start of Season 3. Confirming a previous Marvel Rivals rumor, Season 3 will kick off on July 11, adding Blade and Jean Grey/Phoenix as new characters. The shooter will also release skins for five characters, including the anticipated Jeff the Landshark venomized outfit. With the upcoming season featuring Knull and the planet of the symbiotes, Marvel Rivals is expected to add a new Klyntar map.
