As two major military superpowers of the world, the United States and Russia are the owners of some of the most advanced military machines and equipment, and Broken Arrow is a virtual response to the burning question of what would happen if the two countries engaged in an all-out battle.

Broken Arrow: Best Russian Deck
There are many different forces available on the Russian side of the battle in Broken Arrow, making it difficult to find the best deck.
Depicting both countries with their modern-day units and troops, Broken Arrow is a deck-builder RTS at heart, and victory cannot be achieved without finding the perfect deck for each side of the battle. Depending on the playstyle, decks can vary a lot. However, a winning deck is one that delivers effective troops in each category, allowing the player to have a response to every possible situation.
Best US Deck in Broken Arrow
Just like the Russian army, many interesting options among the United States’ army could be a top candidate for a superior deck, but the game always limits players to selecting only two specialization units, and that means you will be locked out of some of the options, no matter how well you put the cards together.
The following US deck combines Armored Brigade and Special Operations Forces units and comes with a significantly strong presence of infantry units, which is, by far, the biggest wildcard of the deck. There is no gap in the coverage provided by these infantry units, which makes them capable of swarming into the capture zones and holding an area pretty well, countering any ground or aerial attacks.
However, no one can deny the vulnerability of infantry against artillery units, especially when it comes to incendiary ammunition. While it can’t be neutralized, constantly moving around the infantry units and trying to keep them away from the zones after capturing them will reduce the casualties. Also, it’s crucial to locate the enemy artillery and get rid of it either with aerial strikes or artillery bombardments.
Recon
-
2x Rangers Snipers + 1x MH-6 Little Bird
- Squad Loadout: M107 anti-material rifle
-
3x Green Berets Punishers + 2x Flyer GMV
- Squad Loadout: XM-25 Punisher
- Weapon Package (Vehicle): M2 Heavy machine gun
-
3x Cavalry Scout + 2x M3A2 CFV
- Armor Package (Vehicle): BUSK Armor

-
2x MQ-9 Reaper
- Inner Pylons: 4x Hellfire AT missiles
- Outer Pylons: 4x Stinger AA missiles
-
1x Pararescue + 1x MH-60X Silent Hawk
- Squad Loadout: Pararescue Team
- 1x M1A2 SEP v2 TUA
It’s probable that the amount of points provided for the Recon category after combining Armored Brigade and Special Operations Forces is higher than what is really needed, which is why you shouldn’t really use all the points provided. Instead, you can exceed the points limit in the other categories.
MQ-9 Reaper is the best drone out of the two specialties chosen for this deck, and it comes with a good range and the capability to drop bombs as well. Of course, it is not going to be the primary option for gathering intel, but in urgent cases when you need fast info about the location of enemies before ordering an airstrike, the MQ-9 Reaper will prove its value.
The next best thing in this category is Cavalry Scout, which comes with powerful rocket launchers that can target vehicles and tanks while surveilling enemy movements. Of course, you always want to keep Recon units far from engagement, but Cavalry Scout can also serve as a worthy ambush.

How to Initiate Precision Strike in Broken Arrow
Precision Strike is a result of a cooperation between two different unit types in Broken Arrow, which is crucial for nuclear attacks.
The M1A2 SEP v2 TUA is an optional choice in the deck. It is not as sturdy as the M1A2 Abrams, especially on the sides, but it comes with significant firepower, and the fact that it features laser designation is a big reason to include this tank in your ground pushes for any necessary air strikes.

- Squad Loadout: Close-quarters
-
2x Rangers MAAWS + 1x RSOV
- Squad Loadout: M4 Carl Gustaf
- Weapon Package (Vehicle): M2 Heavy machine gun
As mentioned earlier, infantry is where this deck excels. There is a response for every possible threat in this category except for artillery. Four of the seven infantry units in this deck deliver a solution to tanks and vehicles.
Mech Riflemen AA are pretty strong against any incoming attack from the air, especially the opponent’s helicopters. Rangers, Mech. Riflemen, and especially Delta Force units, are also amazing in close-quarter combat, which makes them very powerful when pushing towards buildings filled with infantry.
The key to capturing zones with these infantry units is to stack at least one of each enemy type around an enemy zone. Then, players can divide them into two groups and push from two different sides. Delta Force can be spared when pushing, as it’s a little bit costly, but they can add more value for holding an area or ambushing inside the forest.
Getting support from artillery before pushing is also a key tactic. It’s best to target the zone with howitzers and rocket launchers while the infantry is running towards the objective. This will put extra pressure on the enemy infantry or vehicles, causing them to panic.
Vehicles
-
4x M1A2 Abrams
- Armor Package: TUSK 2 armor package
- 3x M901A3
-
2x M1A2 SEP v3 Trophy
- Armor Package: TUSK 2 armor + Trophy APS
There is not much variety in tanks among the options provided by the Armored Brigade and Special Ops Forces, but you can still add two powerful variants of M1A2, and that should be enough for a holding area or even a big ground push.
M1A2 SEP v3 Trophy is the best offering here with the longest engagement range and an active protection system, which increases combat survivability significantly. While the M1A2 Abrams is slightly better armored on the sides, it doesn’t have the active protection system.
Spending the remaining points on a few M901A3 anti-tank units seems reasonable. While they are not good enough on their own, having a few of them among a tank group provides an efficient means of putting more pressure on enemy vehicles.
Support
-
2x M270A1 MLRS
- Ammunition: High Explosive warheads
-
2x Patriot PAC-2
- Weapon Package: 4x missiles
- Self-defence Weapon: Empty
- Armor Package: Default
-
2x M109A7 Paladin
- Weapon Package: M109A7 Paladin
- Armor Package: Default
-
4x M548A3
- Self-defense Weapon: Empty
No matter which specialization you choose, the US just never has the glory of the Russian army when it comes to artillery units. While Patriot-PAC 2 carries far fewer missiles compared to the PAC-3 variant, its missiles pack a stronger punch, and having a supply unit somewhere close to it will speed up the reloading.
The bad news is that Patriot PAC-2 is the only reliable option for scaring aircraft. While you have access to M6 Linebacker as well, it comes with half the range of a Patriot PAC-2.

Broken Arrow: Best US Units
Broken Arrow players have a range of US units to choose from, but these are arguably the best of the bunch.
The M270A1 MLRS is a must-have artillery unit. Choosing the ammo type is up to you, but it is strongly suggested to avoid ballistic missiles as they are intercepted easily. Using Cluster or High Explosive is recommended, as they can get rid of both infantry and vehicles quickly.
Last but not least, a howitzer always provides great utility on the battlefield, and the M109A7 Paladin is a solid option here to target possible enemy locations and force them to retreat, even if players are unable to kill them.
Helicopters
-
2x AH-64E Guardian
- Inner Pylons: 32x DAGR Guided Rockets
- Outer Pylons: 8x JAGM F&F missiles
- Wingtips: LAIRCM ECM system
-
2x RAH-66 Comanche
- Inner Pylons: 2x Hellfire AT missiles
- Middle Pylons: 14x Hydra rockets
- Outer Pylons: 8x DAGR guided rockets
- Sensors: Radar
-
1x MH-47G SOAR
- Front Weapons: M240 machinegun
- Rear Weapons: M240 machinegun
- Protection System: None
-
2x AH-6 Killer Egg
- Port Side Pylon: 2x Hellfire AT missiles
- Starboard Pylon: 7x Hydra rockets
Helicopters are one of those risky purchases in Broken Arrow, as it is usually difficult to guarantee their safety. The fact that choppers can be targeted by a variety of units makes them vulnerable options, but their superiority over infantry units is also something that cannot be ignored.
This deck has access to some powerful helicopter units for strikes, including AH-64E Guardian, which is a superb unit for dealing devastating damage to armored vehicles. It also has an ECM system that helps with its survivability.
The next great options are RAH-66 Comanche and the cheap AH-6 Killer Egg. While both carry anti-tank missiles, Killer Egg is a poorly armored option, but the price tag actually makes it a considerable unit in massive pushes.
MH-47G SOAR is a transporter chopper with a massive space for supplies or infantry units, but only one instance should be enough, unless you have some other plans.
Aircraft
-
1x B-2 Spirit
- Bomb Bay: 2x GBU-57 MOP 30,000 lb
-
1x F-35A
- Port Side Bay: 1x HARM anti-radiation missile
- Starboard Bay: 4x GBU-53 StormBreaker
-
1x F-22 Raptor
- Port Side Bay: 1x AGM-154 JSOW 1,000 lb
- Starboard Bay: 2x AIM-120 AMRAAM
The good news about this deck is that you have access to most of the top-notch fighter jets and bombers, but your choices are quite limited. This part of the deck is highly customizable based on your preference.
While both the F-35A and F-22 Raptor will carry missiles for ground strike, the former is equipped with anti-radiation missiles to get rid of the air defense system, while the latter delivers enough air-to-air missiles for winning air superiority fights.
The B-2 Spirit is equipped with GBU-57 bombs. If you are a fan of nuclear explosions, you can swap it with B61-12, but in that case, you will have to remove either the F-22 or F-35A from the deck. Despite covering a massive area, nuclear strikes are not considered successful most of the time due to their high cost, unless they are used near the end of the game to remove enemy units from a zone and capture it immediately.
