Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Showcases Upcoming Daima DLC Features

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has given players a closer look at what to expect in the first round of the Dragon Ball Daima Adventures through The Demon Realm Part 1 DLC that is slated for release near the middle of July. Along with adding story content based on the latest adventures in the historic anime and manga franchise, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot‘s upcoming expansion will include some additional features that breathe new life into the more than five-year-old game.

Providing a different gameplay experience than the abundant number of Dragon Ball fighting games released across the years, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was launched in early 2020 with a major focus on story. While fighting game elements are still present, the game initially followed the adventures of Goku throughout the run of Dragon Ball Z, although previous expansions have added story content from Dragon Ball Super and even an original storyline centered around Trunks.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot reveals the release date for its next major update, giving fans something new to look forward to for the game.

The development team is continuing to expand the game’s story, having announced the two-part Adventures Through the Demon Realm DLC in October 2024, and the first part is slated to arrive on July 17 for all available platforms. Ahead of that launch, Bandai Namco has released a trailer detailing some exciting new features coming to the game. These include the new adventures of Goku and his allies, Glorio, Panzy, and Supreme Kai, as they journey through the Third Demon World and its floating islands. Those islands will hold a lot of hidden treasures, including Demon World Rumors that unveil secrets about the story, so completionists may want to search them thoroughly. Enemies include the Demon Realm’s trolls and goblins, some of which will be able to cause debilitating status effects, and Goku will be put to the test in a fight against Glorio, just like in the anime.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Prepares for Daima DLC Launch

While most of the content released for the game has stayed true to its source material, those looking for an expansion to the story have something to look forward to. The trailer reveals that Dragon Ball Daima character Panzy will show a side of herself that wasn’t revealed in the anime. Additionally, since volcanic gasses canonically make flying in the Third Demon World difficult, a fast-travel system called Sky Seed has been included, and players will still be able to enjoy activities like hunting and fishing from the base game.

For those who haven’t yet taken the dive into the story of Dragon Ball Daima, it centers around Gomah, supreme king of the Demon Realm, transforming Goku and the other heroes into childlike versions of themselves in a plot to kidnap Dende, the Guardian of Earth. Unlike many other series in the Dragon Ball franchise, it had a very limited run, with only 20 episodes of the anime produced. The series finale of Dragon Ball Daima was released at the end of February, so those who want to check it out before the DLC’s release still have a little bit of time.
